The posting

THE OPPORTUNITY

Pearl Health is looking for a passionate and motivated clinical leader, who will directly shape how care is delivered at some of the country’s leading health systems, and to champion the value-based care model where it matters most.

As an experienced clinical leader, you will serve as a clinical and population health subject matter expert and client-facing performance partner across our value-based care network. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of our ACO enterprise clients, using both clinical judgment and independent data analysis to identify performance drivers and to mobilize physicians and practice leadership around them. Working in close partnership with our Markets and Customer Success teams, you'll be the clinical voice that turns performance data into trusted, actionable guidance and the presence that gets clients to lean in.

WHO WE ARE

Pearl Health is dedicated to empowering primary care providers, health systems, and physician-led networks to succeed in the shift to value-based care. Our platform delivers the technology, financial tools, and expert services that enable practices to provide more proactive, effective care to their Medicare patients, ultimately lowering costs and improving health outcomes.

Founded in 2020, we are a team of healthcare and technology innovators backed by premier investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, and AlleyCorp. We partner with thousands of providers across 44 states to build a more sustainable future for American healthcare.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Director, Clinical Performance, you will own the clinical relationship for a portfolio of Pearl's client ACOs, combining hands-on analytics with clinician-to-clinician credibility to drive measurable performance improvement — working hand-in-hand with our Markets and Customer Success teams as the clinical counterpart to their account relationship.

Analyze

- Analyze client-level performance data such as utilization patterns, quality measure gaps, risk adjustment and coding trends and cost drivers to identify the root causes behind a client's performance trend; partner with Pearl's analytics resources as needed, but be fully capable of doing this work independently by leveraging a wide array of internal data sources (e.g. claims, real-time utilization metrics, business intelligence dashboards, and compliant connected frontier LLMs).

Engage

- Serve as the primary clinical and population health subject matter expert for an assigned portfolio of value-based care clients, partnering directly with physician, clinical, and administrative leadership.

- Partner closely with Pearl's Markets and Customer Success teams as the clinical counterpart on each account to align on client strategy, co-present in key meetings, and ensure clinical and commercial priorities move in lockstep.

- Manage a varied and demanding set of client relationships simultaneously, building the trust and credibility needed to keep clients actively engaged in their performance improvement work.

- Lead client-facing performance reviews and deep-dive sessions, translating complex clinical, quality, and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.

- Foster motivation and adoption of recommendations to improve performance, customizing the plans based on individual client needs and current state.

Solution

- Develop, prioritize, and manage your own client action plans and workstreams, holding yourself and client stakeholders accountable to timelines and outcomes; organize internal stakeholders around client performance engagement and programs.

- Represent the clinical and client point of view in internal strategy discussions, helping shape Pearl's analytics suite, performance programs, product, and playbooks; develop business cases for new programs, partnerships, and investments that further Pearl's partners' performance.

- Coach clinical and administrative teams within client organizations, building the capability to sustain performance improvements and embed Pearl's insights into day-to-day practice over time.

- Lead workflow discovery with clients to understand how care teams work in their EHR today and where Pearl's signals can fit into those workflows; serve as the clinical and operational expert who, with the support of a dedicated technical resource, shapes and drives the integration pathways that bring Pearl's signals into the EHR workflow.

Impact

- Hold outcomes responsibility for your client portfolio, ultimately accountable for the quality, cost of care, and risk adjustment results your clients achieve through Pearl's performance programs.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

We're looking for a physician who is equally comfortable in a room full of skeptical clinicians and alone with a spreadsheet — someone who can command a client's attention, back it up with their own analysis, and work seamlessly alongside the Markets and Customer Success teams who own the broader account relationship.

Clinical Background & Credentials

- MD, DO, or APP, board-certified with direct clinical practice experience; primary-care-aligned specialties (internal medicine, family medicine, geriatric medicine) or adjacent chronic condition management specialties (e.g., cardiology, nephrology) are a strong fit, though other specialties will be considered based on prior experience.

- Direct, hands-on experience with value-based care and quality management within a VBC contract setting (e.g., MSSP, ACO REACH, Medicare Advantage).

- Working knowledge of Medicare ACO program mechanics, including benchmarking, risk adjustment, quality measure scoring, and shared savings.

- Working knowledge of EHR workflows and practice operations (e.g., how care teams document, receive alerts, and close care gaps), with the ability to translate them into clear requirements for technical integration.

- Credibility and presence to engage physicians and practice leadership as a clinical peer, not just a vendor representative, grounded in real experience delivering care.

Client Engagement & Presence

- A track record of building trust with physician and executive audiences and translating clinical nuance into business-relevant, actionable recommendations.

- Ability to build credibility and foster partnership in high-stakes client settings such as performance reviews, leadership meetings, and difficult conversations about underperformance.

- Skilled at driving engagement and follow-through with clients, including those who may be resistant to change.

- Comfortable and effective managing a varied portfolio of concurrent client relationships without losing quality of attention on any one.

- Experience partnering closely with account management, customer success, or market-facing teams to present a unified front to clients.

Analytical Rigor & Execution

- Comfortable working hands-on with data and able to independently identify what is driving a client's performance trend, without relying on a dedicated analyst to do it for you.

- Strong project management instincts; able to independently plan, prioritize, and manage your own workload across multiple concurrent engagements and evolving priorities.

- Direct experience with performance and quality metrics relevant to value-based care (e.g., quality measure scoring, HCC coding/risk adjustment, total cost of care).

- A bias toward action: you turn analysis into concrete next steps and drive them to completion with clients.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
