About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the new core engine behind Pentera’s AI Autonomous Attacker. You’ll design, implement, and evaluate production AI workflows that combine deterministic logic, LLMs, and other ML and DL models to discover vulnerabilities and carry out authorized security testing.

You’ll work closely with Pentera’s security researchers to turn their expertise into reliable, scalable systems. This is an opportunity to shape a new engine with the potential to serve Pentera’s 1,300+ customers.

What you’ll do

  • Own the design, implementation, deployment, and operation of core agentic workflows.
  • Build systems that combine model-driven reasoning with deterministic execution and clear safety controls.
  • Partner with security researchers, data scientists, and DevOps engineers to translate pentesting knowledge into production capabilities.
  • Develop evaluations and use internal benchmarks to improve effectiveness, precision, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and shipping production software, with a strong backend engineering background.
  • Experience shipping LLM applications, AI agents, or ML systems to production.
  • Strong software design, data structures, and system architecture skills.
  • A track record of owning complex features from design through production operation.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Go, or a comparable language.
  • Experience building distributed systems in a cloud environment, with practical knowledge of containers, orchestration, and databases.

Nice to have

  • Experience building evaluation systems for AI or security workflows.
  • Background in cybersecurity, offensive security, or infrastructure-heavy products.
  • Open-source contributions or technical writing.
  • An advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or a related technical field.
