Job Title: Cost Accountant

Location: Abuja

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant with at least 5 years of experience to manage and analyze cost structures, improve financial efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost analysis, budgeting, variance reporting, and ensuring cost control across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and track costs across production, operations, and inventory. Prepare detailed cost reports and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop cost estimates, monitor budgets, and provide insights on financial planning.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigate cost discrepancies and identify trends impacting profitability.
  • Inventory & Cost Control: Oversee inventory valuation, ensure accurate cost allocation, and optimize cost efficiencies.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency enhancements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with finance, procurement, and operations teams to align cost strategies with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICAN, ACCA, or CPA certification is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
