Job Title: Head of Procurement

Industry: Telecommunication

Salary: 750,000 - 1,000,000

Location: Lagos

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead and manage the procurement operations in the telecommunications sector. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with leading telecom companies such as IHS Towers, ZTE, and HUAWEI. This role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of key telecom equipment, including Optical Fiber Cable, FTTH, and Lithium Batteries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with telecom operators, tower companies, and local contractors.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of telecom equipment and materials, including Optical Fiber Cable, FTTH, and Lithium Batteries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to ensure procurement aligns with business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends, supplier performance, and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and industry regulations.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, forecasts, and cost analyses to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure business continuity.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement within the telecommunications industry.
  • Prior experience working with or for MTN, Airtel, IHS Towers, ATC Tower, ZTE, or HUAWEI is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and cost control.
  • In-depth knowledge of Optical Fiber Cable, FTTH, Lithium Batteries, and other telecom-related products.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic procurement plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team while driving operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management tools and software.
