The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP/SVP, Finance based in the United States.

The VP/SVP, Finance will lead the full finance function for a growing enterprise B2B software business, overseeing financial planning and analysis, accounting, cash management, and strategic finance. Reporting directly to the CEO, this hands-on executive will shape financial strategy, guide investment decisions, and provide trusted insights to the executive team and board. The role combines strategic leadership with operational ownership, from financial modeling and forecasting to monthly close, revenue recognition, and liquidity management. A key priority is building predictable financial performance across subscription and usage-based revenue models while supporting sustainable growth and improving cash generation. The successful candidate will strengthen financial controls, optimize pricing and unit economics, and ensure the business is prepared for audits and future financing opportunities. This position offers the opportunity to build a scalable finance organization, partner closely with cross-functional leaders, and influence critical business decisions in a dynamic technology environment.

Accountabilities

  • Financial planning and analysis: Own annual budgeting, scenario planning, rolling forecasts, and monthly and quarterly reporting. Partner with operating leaders to analyze performance, explain variances, and align investment decisions with business priorities and growth objectives.
  • Strategic finance and capital planning: Advise the CEO and executive team on financial strategy, prepare board materials and investor reports, respond to investor information requests, and support preparation for future fundraising or financing events.
  • Pricing and unit economics: Collaborate with Product on pricing and packaging strategies, evaluate the revenue and margin impact of different offerings, and establish reliable forecasts for subscription and usage-based revenue.
  • Revenue metrics and profitability: Define and govern key SaaS metrics, including ARR, net dollar retention, and remaining performance obligations. Establish revenue recognition policies for committed, prepaid, consumed, and unused usage-based services, and monitor gross margin drivers such as cloud infrastructure and AI model costs.
  • Enterprise deal economics: Support complex enterprise contracts, oversee discount governance and non-standard terms, partner on sales compensation design, and manage billing and collections for hybrid subscription and usage agreements.
  • Accounting and controllership: Oversee the monthly close, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, internal controls, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting. Manage external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory filings, and sales tax obligations.
  • Cash and treasury management: Lead cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and treasury operations. Monitor cash burn and runway, identify financial risks early, and improve working capital through effective billing, collections, and vendor management.
  • Team leadership and operational scalability: Build and develop a lean finance team, establish scalable systems and reporting tools, and partner with People leadership on headcount planning, compensation, equity programs, benefits costs, payroll, and HR systems.
  • Finance leadership experience: At least 8 years of progressive finance leadership experience, currently at the SVP level or as a VP ready to step into a broader executive role.
  • Enterprise SaaS expertise: Experience across the full finance function at a product-led enterprise B2B software company with approximately $50M–$100M in ARR, larger enterprise contracts, and a subscription or platform business model.
  • Strategic and operational financial management: Demonstrated success connecting financial planning to business operations and helping a company transition from cash-flow neutrality to growing cash flow through disciplined investment and operational decisions.
  • FP&A and SaaS metrics: Deep expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and SaaS metrics, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
  • Accounting and compliance: Hands-on experience with monthly close processes, GAAP reporting, internal controls, and revenue recognition under ASC 606, including variable consideration.
  • Audit, tax, and treasury oversight: Experience managing external auditors, tax advisors, banking relationships, liquidity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Pricing and revenue model expertise: Ability to assess enterprise deal economics, pricing and packaging, subscription and usage-based revenue, sales compensation structures, and gross margin drivers.
  • People leadership: A player-coach who can build and assess talent across accounting, FP&A, treasury, and transactional finance while remaining willing to contribute directly to modeling, analysis, and close activities.
  • Executive communication and collaboration: Strong communication and judgment, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, partner constructively with growth functions, and explain financial implications in practical terms.
  • Change leadership: A steady, collaborative leader who can guide a finance team through organizational transition while introducing scalable processes and systems.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience in revenue technology or CRM, hybrid subscription and usage-based business models, AI and cloud cost structures, strategic exits, or capital raises and debt facilities.
  • Annual compensation: $275,000–$330,000.
  • Remote work: The position is listed as remote, with the role based in the United States.
  • Executive-level impact: Opportunity to shape company-wide financial strategy, advise the CEO and executive team, and contribute to board and investor discussions.
  • Finance leadership scope: Broad ownership across FP&A, accounting, treasury, pricing, unit economics, and capital planning.
  • Growth and strategic exposure: Direct involvement in sustainable business growth, financial operations, and preparation for future financing opportunities.
  • Additional benefits: Healthcare coverage, equity arrangements, paid time off, and other employee benefits were not specified in the available job description and should be confirmed during the hiring process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
