Job Description

At People First Bank, we're looking for an experienced Contracts & Procurement Lead to play a pivotal role in delivering strong commercial outcomes, managing strategic supplier relationships, and strengthening our third-party risk management framework.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence enterprise-wide procurement and contracting activities while helping shape the future of vendor management across a growing organisation. You'll work closely with business leaders, technology teams, and legal, compliance and risk stakeholders to establish robust, value-driven partnerships that support our strategic objectives.

About the Role

As the Contracts & Procurement Lead, you'll lead and support procurement and contracting activities from sourcing through to contract execution and ongoing vendor management. You'll be responsible for driving commercial value, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding best-practice contract lifecycle management processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities, including RFx development, vendor evaluation, supplier selection and contract negotiations.
  • Establishing and managing a fit-for-purpose Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
  • Developing and maintaining vendor performance management frameworks, reporting and governance processes.
  • Managing supplier and vendor relationships to maximise value, performance and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting the management and reporting of third-party risk and prudential obligations, including CPS 230, CPS 231 and Modern Slavery requirements.
  • Conducting proactive reviews of supplier contracts to identify efficiencies, cost savings and commercial improvements.
  • Ensuring procurement activities comply with policy, delegations of authority and governance requirements.
  • Collaborating with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams throughout vendor onboarding and contract management activities.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing risks across the vendor lifecycle.
  • Supporting the broader Vendor Management team in achieving its strategic objectives and organisational outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll combine strong commercial acumen with exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

You'll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management or vendor management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading procurement initiatives and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of vendor risk management and third-party governance practices.
  • Experience managing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Success in this role means delivering optimised supplier arrangements, achieving strong commercial outcomes, enhancing procurement and contracting processes, and building a mature vendor management framework that supports business growth, compliance and operational resilience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
