The posting

Our client is an International Financial Services Corporation, who is looking for an talented Director of Legal & Compliance to support the company through all business matters.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

  • Provide insightful legal analysis and commercially astute advice on investment and general corporate matters.
  • Monitoring incoming legislation and regulations, identifying any impact on the business and overseeing effective compliance.
  • Providing legal input into investment decisions that is timely, effective, and fit for purpose and ensuring timely implementation of new mandates.
  • Negotiating the terms of legal contracts and other documentation with Investment managers, consultants, advisers, and other external parties.
  • Review and revise compliance manuals, policies, procedures and systems to keep abreast of new and regulatory changes
  • Ensuring the consistency of terms across managers within a specific asset class, key commercial terms (in-house precedence), tax & legal structuring
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Law or related disciplines
  • Possess at least 10 years legal experience working in financial services industry with solid experience in handling complicated compliance issues
  • Preferable candidate with experience in investment business or asset management.
  • Mature, self-initiative, detail oriented with good inter-personal skill and analytical mind
  • Sound knowledge in rules and regulations administered by market practices, financial products as well as securities business.
  • Legally qualified with a good understanding of applicable Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
