Job Description

  • Experience - 15 years of experience managing Solar PV projects, with proven experience in 100MW+ power generation projects.

1. Project Planning and Execution

  • Plan, schedule, and execute engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines and budgets.

2. Team Management

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, procurement specialists, construction professionals, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

3. Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth communication, timely delivery, and high customer satisfaction

4. Quality Assurance and Control

  • Implement quality management systems and conduct regular inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to technical specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements for high-quality project delivery.

5. Cost Management

  • Monitor project costs and track expenses.
  • Optimize procurement processes and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project profitability.

6. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

7. Contract Management

  • Manage contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and ensure compliance throughout the project.

8. Technical Expertise

  • Apply engineering principles, construction methodologies, and industry best practices to guide project decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues to ensure smooth project execution.

9. Solar PV Plant Execution

  • Conduct site surveys and coordinate with design, civil, and installation teams for various components like roads, water drainage, and module installation.
  • Oversee DC trenching, AC and DC cable installation, SCB structure, inverters, switchgear panels, and grounding.

10. Technical Tools and Proficiency

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Katia, PV syst, Windpro, Solar GIS, Micro-siting for wind projects, feasibility studies, asset management, and project management software.

11. Project Evaluation and Analytics

  • Prepare RFPs, conduct vendor negotiations, evaluate technical specifications, and conduct due diligence.
  • Perform techno-commercial analyses, monitor actual vs. estimated performance, and provide feedback for system improvement.

12. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare SLDs, plant layouts, tender specifications, BOM, and detailed engineering documents.
  • Develop project reports, troubleshoot site issues, and provide monthly quality and performance analysis.

13. Performance Monitoring

  • Conduct monthly analysis of plant performance ratio, availability, expected vs. actual generation, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement daily and monthly checklists for preventive and corrective actions, focusing on reducing downtime and enhancing efficiency.

14. Construction Support

  • Monitor construction activities, resolve site-related issues, and review progress.
  • Manage vendor selection, technical comparisons, and ensure timely execution.

Education:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Masters in Renewable Energy or MBA is a plus)
