Job Summary

The Desktop Support Engineer will provide essential IT helpdesk and technical support to end-users while configuring and maintaining desktop and small computer equipment. This role is vital for ensuring smooth operations within the IT environment and contributes to the overall efficiency of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT helpdesk support by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for end-users.
  • Configure, maintain, and support end-user and small computer equipment.
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation related to desktop support processes and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with team members and interact with end-users on-site to provide effective support.
  • Work independently to problem-solve while knowing when to escalate issues for further assistance.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks effectively under pressure while adhering to established timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and documentation skills.
  • Strong ability to create and maintain documentation for desktop support processes.
  • Degree in a relevant field is desired; equivalent work experience or certifications are required.
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud and on-premises products from Microsoft, Atlassian, Slack, and Google.
  • Knowledge of security controls on end-user systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively under pressure.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Familiarity with remote desktop support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Understanding of networking principles and basic troubleshooting.

Experience

- Relevant work experience in a computer operations environment providing IT Helpdesk and technical support is preferred.
