The posting

Design, review, verify and document electrical and electronic modules, ensuring designs are testable, robust and compliant with defined technical requirements and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development from concept through industrialization and production release.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical and electronic design: Design and select electrical and electronic modules, develop detailed analogue and digital circuits, and document design decisions.
  • Architecture and interfaces: Break down the electrical design into modules, identify dependencies, and define module interfaces and integration requirements.
  • PCB development: Prepare PCB design requests and requirements, support design kick-off activities, and conduct final PCB design reviews.
  • Safety and quality: Initiate and maintain the electrical engineering contributions to Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA). Apply relevant design rules and standards.
  • Integration and verification: Develop electrical integration and verification test specifications, define acceptance criteria, execute module verification tests, evaluate results, and assess test coverage.
  • Design for testability: Ensure electrical modules can be effectively tested within the product and support the development of electrical test specifications.
  • Simulation and robustness: Plan and perform applicable circuit, signal integrity, power integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) simulations. Define climatic robustness requirements.
  • Planning and tracking: Estimate engineering effort and development costs, maintain the electrical engineering development schedule, and track progress against milestones.
  • Documentation and release: Maintain design and verification documentation, prepare electrical engineering release notes, and capture lessons learned.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Provide electrical input to mechanical external interface specifications and work closely with systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing and test teams to resolve design and integration issues.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a comparable qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic engineering, with strong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design, detailed electrical design and electrical integration.
  • Experience in development projects within automotive, transportation or a comparable industry.
  • Working knowledge of electrical architecture, PCB design, EMC, requirements engineering, electrical testing and circuit simulation.
  • Familiarity with structured problem solving, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), FMEA/FMEDA, change management, risk management and product lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements, define measurable acceptance criteria and produce clear engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
