Working closely with the Event Manager and engineering teams, you will ensure robots are safely configured, tested and ready for live operation. This role suits a technically curious and reliable individual who enjoys working with emerging technology and learning new robotics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect robot condition, batteries, chargers, controllers, accessories and peripherals before deployment.
  • Set up robot operating areas, network connectivity, power supplies and supporting equipment.
  • Complete pre-event technical checks and readiness checklists.
  • Support equipment transportation, loading, setup, teardown and packing.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and deployment records.

Configuration, Testing and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform basic robot configuration using approved software, tools and procedures.
  • Configure operating parameters and event-specific settings.
  • Test robot movement, sensors, communications, audio, displays and other supported functions.
  • Conduct rehearsals and functional checks before live operation.
  • Diagnose and resolve first-level technical issues.
  • Escalate hardware, software and robotics faults to the engineering team or suppliers.

Dance and Motion Content:

  • Prepare and configure humanoid dance routines using the tools provided.
  • Download and deploy approved dance and motion content from designated platforms.
  • Verify content compatibility and test routines before live deployment.
  • Maintain a version-controlled library of approved routines.
  • Support rehearsals and adjust configurations to suit venue conditions and event requirements.
  • Ensure only approved and tested motion content is used during live events.

On-site Event Support:

  • Operate and monitor humanoid robots according to approved procedures.
  • Conduct pre-show checks and provide technical standby support during performances.
  • Respond to operational issues and carry out recovery procedures safely.
  • Coordinate with the Event Manager on show timing, technical readiness and operational limitations.
  • Monitor connectivity, power availability, charging requirements and robot operating conditions throughout events.

Safety and Risk Management:

  • Follow robot safety procedures and operating guidelines.
  • Conduct and document pre-event safety checks.
  • Assist with event-specific risk assessments and safety documentation.
  • Implement operating boundaries, emergency stop arrangements and other required safety controls.
  • Monitor risks arising from robot movement and interaction with the public.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents and equipment faults promptly.

Technical Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain robot operation manuals, setup and teardown guides, troubleshooting guides and operating procedures.
  • Update readiness checklists, equipment checklists, motion deployment procedures and event technical runbooks.
  • Maintain document versions and ensure teams have access to the latest approved procedures.
  • Record lessons learned from events and incorporate improvements into documentation.

Maintenance and Asset Management:

  • Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Keep batteries, chargers, controllers, cables and accessories in good working condition.
  • Record equipment faults, maintenance activities and repair requirements.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment, accessories and spare parts.
  • Coordinate repairs and specialist maintenance with engineering teams and suppliers.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify recurring technical issues and recommend practical improvements.
  • Improve deployment checklists, troubleshooting processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Learn new robot capabilities, software tools and operating methods.
  • Work with event and engineering teams to improve deployment efficiency and operational reliability.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in technical support, robotics, automation, equipment operations, audio-visual support or a related field.
  • Comfortable setting up and working with hardware, software and technical equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures, safety requirements and checklists accurately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and a responsible approach to equipment handling.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with event managers, engineers, clients and vendors.
  • Able to remain calm and respond effectively to technical issues during live events.
  • Willing to learn new robotics platforms and software tools.
  • Willing to travel for deployments, events and demonstrations.
  • Willing to work on-site, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required. Time off in lieu will be provided for weekend work.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Basic understanding of robotics, networking, sensors, actuators or embedded systems.
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
