Role Summary

At Pfizer, breakthroughs change patients' lives. In Specialty Care that means people living with rare and serious conditions, from ATTR amyloidosis and hemophilia to atopic dermatitis and vitiligo. Our Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) team turns data into the decisions that help these medicines reach the patients who need them, powered by a proprietary, AI-enabled analytics stack few commercial teams can match. As a Team Lead in IIS, you will build and lead the team of strategists behind how these brands grow, and grow the people who do it.

Pfizer's Specialty Care Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) team is seeking a Director / Team Lead who will build, lead, and develop a brand-aligned pod of strategists and analysts. The team drives commercial brand strategy by framing the business problems, generating the insights and analytics that answer them, and enabling executional excellence.

The Team Lead is a trusted thought partner to senior US and Global portfolio and TA leaders, sitting on their leadership teams and bringing analyses that shape portfolio decisions and overarching strategy. Just as importantly, they grow the people: unlocking the team's intellectual and analytical curiosity, fostering a spirit of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking, setting a high bar for quality, and mentoring the next generation of IIS strategists.

The ideal candidate is an outstanding people leader with the EQ to build and inspire cross-functional teams and guide the delivery of exceptional strategic consultancy. They bring proven thought leadership in their space, strong entrepreneurial drive, and a well-formed point of view they are not afraid to assert, and they develop that same confidence in their team through consistent mentorship and support. They pair deep analytic command with the presence to partner credibly with senior leaders, and they measure their success by the decisions they shape and the people they grow.

Why IIS: What You'll Gain

  • Lead at the frontier of AI in commercial analytics. Your team uses and helps shape IIS-built tools like ORBIT (our subnational performance platform) and AnalogueOS (our AI analogue-matching engine), and you will set how AI fluency scales across the pod.
  • A leadership platform. You will build and grow a team of high-caliber strategists and analysts, shape how the pod works in an AI-enabled operating model, and see your people advance along IIS's strategist career track.
  • A real seat at the table. You will sit on senior portfolio and TA leadership teams as a trusted thought partner, and your team's analysis shapes the decisions those leaders make.
  • A culture built on curiosity. We reward the sharper question, out-of-the-box thinking, and genuine intellectual partnership over order-taking, and we look to our leaders to protect it.

Role Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a brand-aligned pod of strategists and analysts, hiring for judgment and curiosity and growing each person's craft and career.
  • Mentor and coach the team to frame sharper questions, form and assert a point of view, and deliver exceptional strategic consultancy.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, intellectual curiosity, and high-quality work, setting the standard and removing barriers so the team can do its best thinking.
  • Shape how the pod operates in an AI-enabled model, building the capability, fluency, and ways of working that scale.

Portfolio & Brand Strategy Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior US and Global portfolio and TA leaders, sitting on their leadership teams to inform investment decisions with rigorous analysis.
  • Direct the team to frame, investigate, and answer the key business questions behind commercial strategy and tactics, and to connect research and analytics into a clear, persuasive story with actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Oversee development of the in-house knowledge base that drives patient and HCP insight.

Performance, Forecasting & Operating-Plan Oversight

  • Oversee the team's brand and portfolio performance measurement and reporting, and its contribution to QBRs, using IIS models and dashboards.
  • Oversee development of Long-Range Forecasts (LRFs) and Operating Plans in partnership with US, Global, and Forecasting CoE colleagues, including epi- and trend-based models.
  • Ensure accurate, timely performance measurement and a clear articulation of what the data means for the business.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Capability

  • Lead the integration of insights across cross-functional analytics teams (data science, analytics engineering, market research, and media), and advance the use of novel data sources including real-world data.
  • Advance team capabilities through thought leadership and knowledge sharing, and keep activities aligned and cohesive with stakeholders.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 12+ years in consulting, finance, or commercial analytics, including experience leading and developing teams.
  • 5+ years at a high-value level (e.g., US and Global) developing data-driven brand or portfolio strategy for major assets.
  • Proven people leader with the EQ to build, inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven thought leadership in the space, including development of innovative techniques that drive business performance.
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive; thrives on intellectual challenge and raises the bar on quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple analytic disciplines, including primary and secondary data, with a keen sense of quality, timely insight.
  • Proven ability to be an indispensable thought partner to senior leaders and to influence without authority.
  • Sophisticated executive presence with excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or MBA in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences commercial analytics, including specialty channels, forecasting, and market insights.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools in commercial settings, and experience scaling AI-enabled ways of working across a team.
  • Familiarity with Pfizer GCA capabilities (ORBIT, AnalogueOS, OAE, QBR) or comparable commercial analytics methodologies.

Organizational Relationships

  • Senior Commercial Brand, Portfolio, and TA Leaders (US and Global).
  • Sales Leadership; the Customer Engagement Platform (CEP).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
