Role Summary
The Vice President, Payer Account Management is the senior leader accountable for Pfizer's strategic engagement and account management with U.S. payer customers. Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Account Management, this role leads the Payer Account Management organization and is responsible for translating Pfizer's portfolio and brand access strategies into coordinated customer strategies, negotiations, and account-level execution that deliver sustainable patient access and strong business outcomes.
The Vice President establishes the strategic direction for Pfizer's payer relationships across national, regional, and government payer segments and ensures a consistent, enterprise approach to customer engagement across the portfolio. The role develops and maintains senior relationships with key payer decision-makers, leads complex negotiations within established governance and decision authorities, and ensures that account strategies balance patient access, portfolio priorities, customer needs, and responsible gross-to-net investment.
The role serves as an important voice of the payer within Pfizer, bringing customer, competitive, reimbursement, policy, and formulary insights back into the organization to inform access strategy, contracting choices, launch preparation, forecasting, and portfolio decisions. This is increasingly important as payer consolidation, benefit design, policy changes, and utilization management continue to influence access decisions.
The Vice President works closely with US Market Access BU leaders, Access Enablement, Market Access Operations, Patient Services, Commercial business leaders, Finance, Medical, Policy, Legal and other enterprise partners to connect strategy through execution and ensure account teams are equipped with the strategies, insights, value propositions, analytics and contracting parameters needed to deliver differentiated access outcomes.
