The posting

PharmaCann, Inc. owns and operates best-in-class production facilities and retail dispensaries for cannabis-based products. We currently operate in the States of Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Michigan as a medical and/or adult use cannabis provider to patients and customers. We are looking for energetic, results-driven individuals to join our rapidly growing team and industry.

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance and improvement of a cannabis production facility and its surrounding grounds. This includes an office building, hybrid greenhouse and supporting mechanical and water treatment systems. The facility manager works under the facilities and controls department to serve the needs of the manufacturing department. This individual will work most closely with the manufacturing leadership onsite to ensure the safety and performance of the manufacturing operations within the facility. A strong mechanical background and an understanding of electrical systems is required for a candidate to succeed in this role. The facilities manager will be responsible for organizing the departmental budget, managing a small team of technicians and coordinating service contractors and state inspectors.

The salary range is $75,000 to $100,000

Essential Functions/Responsibilities Safety – Promote a safety-first culture

  • Ensure adherence to safety requirements by through.

  • Work with safety team to implement and maintain safety procedures.
  • Initiate, Update, or Curate as the situation dictates.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to improve safety conditions throughout the facility.

Quality

  • Manage workflow to ensure adherence with GMP
  • Train and educate on quality topics and how they relate to maintenance work.

Leadership

  • Draw out the best in your team through timely, candid feedback and honest evaluation.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration among all site departments.
  • Evaluate personnel to understand strengths and opportunities. Implement strategies to help develop team members and align talents with departmental goals.

Manage Annual Budget

  • Prioritize work in accordance with the budget and needs of the business.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to reduce fixed operating costs.

Contractor Management

  • Quote comparison: evaluate potential vendors based on both cost and deliverables.
  • Onboard and manage contractors, as required, to ensure stable, long term relationships between contractor and Pharmacann.
  • Schedule and supervise on site activities to ensure proper execution and adherence to compliance and security protocols.

Project Management

  • Define project scope and boundaries to create best chance for project success and manage expectations.
  • Manage internal and external communication channels.
  • Ensure proper permitting and adherence to compliance regulations.
  • Maintain projects on time and on budget.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Evaluate and execute PM plan. Update, supplement or alter PM plan as required to meet program goals.
  • Develop PM plan where there are vacancies to promote maximum equipment availability.
  • Be familiar with TPM process and PM pillar development and maintenance.
  • Coordinate PM activities
  • Coordinate company labor and contractor labor to execute PM plan efficiently and with limited over time.

Equipment

  • Train on proper operation, trouble shooting, and proper maintenance.
  • Focus efforts on creating maximum reliability for all equipment relating to facilities, building, and grounds.

Competencies and Qualifications Competencies

  • Maintenance Operations: oversee preventative maintenance programs for all equipment, systems, and the facility itself to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency and system reliability.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, including scheduling, performance reviews, and continuous training.
  • Budget Management: Create and manage the maintenance department’s budget, tracking expenditures, negotiate with vendors, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers, overseeing contracts and performance to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Repairs & Upgrades: Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities. Manage the timely completion of facility upgrades and renovations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the response to emergencies related to facility issues, such as system failures, and develop contingency plans to address such situations.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including service requests, inspections, and compliance documentation, and provide regular reports to upper management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to prioritize conflicts and effectively manage multiple projects and assignments under time constraints and changing priorities including multiple large and complex projects.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships at all levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Organized and able to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft and Google based software applications.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Able to function in a typical office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment.
  • Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds overhead as needed.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
