The posting

Pharmacy1st Health is building the clinical infrastructure for rural America by transforming independent pharmacies into integrated care delivery hubs. Our model combines primary care, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management under one roof, creating a new, lower-cost site of care for underserved communities.

We operate across multiple states and are rapidly expanding a network of rural clinics co-located with pharmacies. Our goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality care while improving access, outcomes, and cost efficiency.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Regional Operations Manager will oversee a cluster of Pharmacy1st-owned pharmacies across a defined region.

This person will be the P&L owner for each pharmacy in their region and will be responsible for driving revenue growth, improving profitability, supporting Pharmacists in Charge, and ensuring consistent execution across sites.

This is a field-based operating role. The Regional Operations Manager will travel frequently to pharmacies, lead business review meetings with Pharmacists in Charge, troubleshoot site-level issues, and serve as the primary link between Corporate HQ and local pharmacy teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

REGIONAL P&L OWNERSHIP

- Own financial performance for each pharmacy in the assigned region.

- Manage site-level revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and contribution margin.

- Review pharmacy financials regularly and identify opportunities to improve performance.

- Partner with finance and leadership to track performance against budget, forecast, and growth targets.

- Develop action plans for underperforming pharmacies and ensure follow-through.

PHARMACY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

- Oversee daily operating performance across pharmacies in the assigned region.

- Work directly with Pharmacists in Charge to identify and resolve operational issues.

- Ensure each pharmacy is operating efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with Pharmacy1st standards.

- Support improvements in prescription volume, workflow efficiency, inventory management, and patient service.

- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions at the site level.

BUSINESS REVIEW AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

- Lead regular business review meetings with each Pharmacist in Charge.

- Review key metrics, including revenue, scripts, gross margin, labour productivity, inventory, patient experience, and cash flow.

- Establish clear performance goals and accountability for each location.

- Track progress against agreed action items after each site visit.

- Escalate material issues to Corporate HQ with clear recommendations.

FIELD LEADERSHIP AND SITE SUPPORT

- Travel frequently to pharmacies across the assigned region.

- Build strong relationships with Pharmacists in Charge, pharmacy technicians, and local teams.

- Serve as the face of operations between Corporate HQ and local pharmacies.

- Ensure local teams feel supported while maintaining high performance expectations.

- Help translate company priorities into practical site-level execution.

ISSUE RESOLUTION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

- Troubleshoot site-level issues related to staffing, workflow, inventory, payer issues, patient experience, or vendor performance.

- Identify recurring problems across pharmacies and develop scalable solutions.

- Share best practices across sites within the region.

- Support standardisation of operating playbooks, reporting cadences, and performance management routines.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATION

- Partner with Corporate HQ across finance, pharmacy operations, clinical services, compliance, HR, and growth.

- Communicate site-level needs, risks, and opportunities back to leadership.

- Support acquisition integration for newly acquired pharmacies in the region.

- Ensure regional execution is aligned with Pharmacy1st’s broader operating and financial goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

- 5 plus years of experience in pharmacy operations, healthcare operations, retail operations, or multi-site operations management.

- Direct experience managing multiple locations or a regional operating portfolio.

- Strong financial acumen and experience owning or managing P&L performance.

- Ability to interpret site-level financials and translate insights into action.

- Experience leading performance reviews, operating cadences, and accountability systems.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with frontline teams and senior leadership.

- Willingness to travel frequently across the assigned region.

- High ownership mindset and ability to operate in a fast-moving environment.

PREFERRED

- Experience in independent pharmacy, retail pharmacy, healthcare services, or multi-site healthcare operations.

- Experience working directly with Pharmacists in Charge or pharmacy teams.

- Familiarity with prescription volume drivers, pharmacy workflow, inventory management, payer dynamics, and gross margin performance.

- Experience integrating newly acquired locations into a larger operating platform.

- Experience operating in rural or small town markets.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
