About The Role

Key Account Manager

Mayflower Washroom Solutions Woolwich, London (Hybrid) with National Travel

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven National Key Account Manager to join Mayflower Washroom Solutions.

The key focus of this hybrid role is to manage, develop and organically grow a portfolio of national washroom and laundry key accounts, while identifying and securing new business opportunities. You'll play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, increasing profitability and building long-term strategic relationships with customers across the UK. As a trusted partner to your customers, you'll identify opportunities to deliver value-added solutions that align with their operational needs, sustainability goals and commercial objectives.

Mayflower is uniquely positioned within the market, offering a complete range of consumable, washroom and laundry hygiene services. Ideally, you'll bring experience from one or more of these sectors. You'll be commercially astute, understand current market and legislative requirements, and be capable of adapting to the evolving needs of customers within the washroom and laundry services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and improve profit margins through gap analysis, customer mapping and stakeholder engagement (80% of role).
  • Achieve annual new business revenue and profit targets through the creation and management of a pipeline of self-generated and cross-divisional opportunities (20% of role).
  • Build value-added customer solutions that support ESG objectives, service consolidation opportunities and commercially beneficial outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with internal Customer Service teams in Woolwich and Coleshill to ensure customers receive exceptional support and a seamless service experience.
  • Support tender and pricing activities, including the preparation and delivery of customer presentations and proposals.
  • Produce accurate management reports covering pipeline activity, portfolio performance, revenue growth, retention, risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively manage your customer portfolio through a structured programme of customer visits, reviews and stakeholder engagement.
  • Resolve service and operational issues in partnership with internal operational teams and support functions.

Knowledge & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven success in key account management and high-value customer relationship management.
  • A strong track record of delivering growth within a B2B service or consumables environment.
  • Excellent commercial awareness gained through senior account management, strategic sales or key account roles.
  • Experience within the washroom, laundry, hygiene or related sectors would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of relevant marketplaces and competitive landscapes.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong presentation and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with high levels of energy, commitment and resilience.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

Key Interactions

  • Reporting directly to the Sales Director and working closely with stakeholders across Mayflower and the wider phs Group.
  • Regular collaboration with senior leaders across Finance, IT, Pricing, Sustainability, Tenders, Product Development and Customer Service.
  • Predominantly customer-facing, with regular meetings, audits, reviews and virtual calls.
  • Regular national travel to customer locations across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
  • An Enhanced DBS check will be required upon offer of employment due to customer locations and sites visited.

In Return, We Offer

  • Competitive basic salary
  • Uncapped OTE
  • Company car or car allowance
  • Phone, laptop and equipment to enable effective home and field-based working
  • Pension scheme
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Free access to virtual GP for you and your household
  • phs Perks - savings at over 800 retailers
  • Buy and sell holiday scheme
  • Ongoing learning, development and career progression opportunities

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
