Poultry Farm Worker – Big Dutchman Equipment

Job Brief

We are seeking two (5) reliable and experienced Poultry Farm Workers to join our operations in Brisbane. This position is specifically for individuals with hands-on experience operating and maintaining Big Dutchman poultry systems. This is an ongoing, 6-month casual contract offering a competitive hourly rate and a steady workflow.

Position Details

  • 📍 Location: Brisbane (Local applicants only)
  • 💰 Pay Rate: $33.00 – $35.00 per hour
  • 📅 Start Date: Ongoing / Immediate
  • ⏱️ Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (Casual)
  • 👥 Vacancies: 2 roles available
  • 🛂 Visa Sponsorship: Not available (Must have local working rights; no offshore applicants)

Key Responsibilities

  • System Operation: Operate and monitor automated Big Dutchman poultry systems including feeding, drinking, climate control, and egg collection machinery.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance to keep production systems running efficiently.
  • Shed Management: Work independently within poultry shed environments, managing conditions despite heat, dust, and operational noise.
  • Biosecurity & Hygiene: Maintain a strict awareness of farm hygiene protocols, biosecurity standards, and safe work practices to protect livestock health.
  • Manual Labour: Complete physically demanding manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and repetitive farm duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven, hands-on experience specifically working with Big Dutchman poultry systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting automated farm machinery.
  • Strong physical stamina to handle manual labour and uncomfortable environment variables (heat, dust).
  • Deep understanding of animal welfare, farm biosecurity, and general workplace health and safety.
  • Must currently reside in the Brisbane area with reliable transport.
  • Full working rights in Australia (Sponsorship is not provided).
