The posting

PLACE is an end-to-end technology and business services platform designed to simplify the real estate lifecycle for both consumers and their real estate agents. Top producing real estate teams partner with PLACE because we take care of bookkeeping, human resources, in-house legal, design and marketing, talent acquisition, business training and coaching. Consumers choose real estate teams Powered by PLACE because our partners are positioned to deliver a better experience to their valued clients.

Your Opportunity:

PLACE is looking to hire a Software Engineer with strong backend and full-stack expertise to join our rapidly growing CRM team. Our team builds and maintains core functionality for the Brivity Platform, the CRM and lead management system that powers day-to-day workflows for top real estate agents and teams across North America. You'll design and scale microservices, APIs, and data models that power lead routing, pipeline management, communication tools, and reporting, helping shape the high-performance foundation that other products and integrations build on top of.

What You're Great At: You are an engineer who ships robust backend and full-stack systems. You bring 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining production web applications and distributed systems, and you are comfortable working across server-side logic, databases, and APIs as well as frontend code. You think in systems, data architectures, and scalability, and understand how backend architecture drives UX responsiveness and product ecosystem performance.

You write clean, maintainable code and take pride in building high-availability backend services. You're fluent in languages like Ruby or C# (.NET), proficient with databases (SQL/NoSQL), and experienced with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React for full-stack feature delivery. You use AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, Cursor) as part of your everyday workflow to move faster, and you know how to use them well—for scaffolding API endpoints, debugging SQL queries, test generation, and documentation—without letting them replace your own judgment on architecture, security, and performance.

You collaborate well with product, design, and engineering partners, and can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You're proactive about identifying issues, improving performance, and paying down technical debt, and you bring a thoughtful, pragmatic approach to building across the stack.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Ruby, .NET, TypeScript, and React
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to scope, prioritize, and deliver features
  • Translate product requirements and architectural designs into secure, reliable backend services and end-to-end features
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation while maintaining high standards for code quality
  • Write clean, scalable, well-documented code following best practices
  • Develop and maintain automated tests
  • Debug issues, fix bugs, and improve performance and reliability
  • Identify and reduce technical debt across the codebase
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, QA, backend engineering, and product teams
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to Agile processes including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Deliver high-quality features within sprint timelines
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation
  • Stay current with platform updates, tools, and best practices, including emerging AI development tools

Skills You Have:

  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in backend and full-stack software development
  • Strong proficiency in backend development with Ruby on Rails, .NET (C#), or Node.js/TypeScript
  • Solid working experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), data modeling, query optimization, and REST/GraphQL API design
  • Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and integrating frontend with backend services
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) in a professional dev workflow
  • Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, or end-to-end)
  • Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with product, design, and QA

Salary: $100,000-$160,000/year, depending on experience

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
