Plaid median: 44 days open

The posting

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Raleigh, London, and Amsterdam.

In this role, you will lead Plaid’s relationships with a focused group of leading mortgage lenders, servicers, and ecosystem partners, bringing the full breadth of Plaid’s offerings to the way they originate, verify, and underwrite loans. You will drive new business and expansion by running a disciplined, consultative sales process, uncovering high-value use cases, and building credibility with senior decision-makers, partnering with Product, Account Management, and other Go-To-Market colleagues to show customers measurable results. This role is ideal for a self-motivated seller who takes initiative, plans several moves ahead, and brings a collaborative, customer-first mindset to fellow sellers and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities:

- Own a named book of approximately 50 enterprise mortgage accounts, spanning national non-bank originators and servicers, top-tier and regional banks, credit unions, builder-affiliated lenders, and digital and home equity lenders

- Serve as the core Plaid representative for your accounts, selling the full Plaid product portfolio across the mortgage vertical

- Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through close, for enterprise mortgage accounts

- Coordinate with product sales specialists and other account pod members to bring the right expertise to each opportunity

- Build executive relationships and identify the business value and impact of Plaid across your named accounts

- Apply a deep understanding of the mortgage landscape, including the end-to-end mortgage workflow, mortgage technology, and the key partnerships needed to win deals

- Articulate Plaid’s business value and technology advantage in the mortgage vertical to lenders, servicers, and ecosystem partners

- Win as a team in partnership with your SDR, account manager, technical account manager, implementation manager, product organization, and other members of your account pod

Qualifications:

- 7+ years of quota-carrying experience in a new-revenue role, with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding quota and a strong track record of closing enterprise-level deals, including 5+ years focused on large enterprise customers

- Ability to sell a technical solution to a business buyer, developing and delivering the value story at the executive level (experience selling APIs or other developer-oriented products a major plus)

- Superior communication skills, including the ability to run compelling discovery conversations, present business cases to executive audiences, and keep internal partners aligned across long, multi-stakeholder deals

- Strong prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills, with a consultative sales approach and a product-centric mindset

- Working knowledge of the mortgage ecosystem and existing relationships with lenders, servicers, or mortgage technology providers

- Experience selling a broad, multi-product portfolio and working effectively with specialist or overlay resources

- Enthusiasm for working in a high-growth environment and helping build processes and tools as needed

Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
