About Us

Planet is a leading technology company transforming payments by putting customer experience first. We offer integrated solutions that include payment processing, VAT refunds, dynamic currency conversion, and management services for merchants in the Retail and Hospitality sectors worldwide.

In recent years, we have experienced significant growth, expanding our services and global presence.

With strong private equity investors, Advent International and Eurazeo, we have the financial capital and expertise to grow our capabilities and reach through acquisitions.

Our mission is to create a world of connected commerce where payments are simple, secure, and seamless, enabling our partners to deliver exceptional experiences to their customers.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the platform that clears, settles, funds and reports on the transactions Planet processes. It decides what every merchant, partner and scheme is owed, and produces reports the business, our partners and our regulators rely on. It is critical, it is complex, and it operates at the centre of the company.

You will own the outcomes, product direction and roadmap across two teams — Settlement & Web, and Reporting — with a clear mission: to shape a mature, business-critical domain into a configurable, extensible payments back-office platform, while meeting the deadlines of regulatory asks and supporting business requests. Product and engineering sit together here: you will work as one accountable unit with the engineering managers of both teams, from discovery through to release.

What You Will Do

  • Own prioritisation and the trade-offs that come with it. Balance business initiatives, compliance demands, technical investment and support-driven work in a single roadmap, with the reasoning visible. Technical investment and non-functional requirements get argued on product value, not treated as a separate budget.
  • Know the domain deeply. Develop a clear, first-hand picture of how the platform behaves today — settlement logic, back-office portals, partner integrations, the reporting estate — and use it to decide what to invest in, consolidate, and retire.
  • Own the product vision and strategy. Define where settlement, reporting and our back-office tooling should be in two years, ground it in evidence, and keep it alive as business priorities and regulatory mandates shift.
  • Be the single intake point. Everything affecting your teams is framed, challenged and prioritised by you. Protecting the teams' focus is part of the job, and you will need to be comfortable doing it with senior stakeholders.
  • Look for leverage. Identify where recurring, case-by-case work can become a configurable capability, and shape our back-office and operational tooling so that more of the platform can be run by the people who use it.
  • Own the outcomes. Define what success looks like in measurable terms, track it, and let the results change your mind.
  • Work across Planet. Our domain sits between commercial, operations, compliance and several adjacent product areas. Strong relationships with product peers across the company are key to the best decisions.

Who You Are

  • An experienced product manager with a track record of owning a complex B2B or platform product end to end — vision through delivery through measured outcomes. Experience in payments, fintech or another regulated domain is a plus.
  • You think in outcomes rather than features, you are comfortable with continuous discovery, and you know the difference between an empowered product team and a feature factory.
  • An enthusiastic, hands-on user of AI. You already use it to accelerate discovery, documentation, analysis and specification, and you are interested in how far it can go — we are actively building towards an AI-native product and delivery lifecycle, and we want someone who will push that further rather than wait to be shown.
  • Able to go deep technically. You can hold your own with engineers and architects on data models, integrations and system boundaries, and you are the kind of PM who reads the spec and the file format.
  • Comfortable moving between horizons. You can shape a two-year direction in the morning and sit in refinement with the team in the afternoon, and you see both as the same job. There is no layer between you and delivery.
  • Structurally minded. You see the pattern behind ten individual requests and turn it into one extensible capability rather than ten more special cases.
  • Persuasive without authority. You can tell a senior stakeholder no, explain the reasoning, and keep the relationship — and you can bring a sceptical audience along to a vision that pays off next year rather than next sprint.
  • At ease with established systems. You enjoy the work of understanding how a mature platform really behaves, and you treat that understanding as the foundation for everything that follows.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, working effectively across distributed, multicultural teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
