The team sources, evaluates and executes transactions that are aligned with SIE’s strategic priorities and drive significant long-term value for the company.

The foundational work of the team involves developing market insights through strong internal and external relationships to identify attractive M&A and investment opportunities. The position offers unique opportunities at the convergence of the global media and technology industries, and a chance to influence the evolution of this fast-moving sector.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with business units, strategy teams, and other internal stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions for SIE
  • Provide market insights to support strategy and M&A activities
  • Construct business cases and prepare detailed valuation models for potential transactions
  • Prepare presentations which outline the strategic rationale for transactions
  • Participate in cross functional due diligence processes and provide project management from due diligence through signing/closing and into integration
  • Present business cases to senior management for project approval
  • Collaborate closely with the post-merger integration and operations team to ensure successful transaction outcomes
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across SIE and across the other Sony businesses to facilitate discovery of opportunities and alignment on projects
  • Support other adjacent areas within the team, including but not limited to investor relations & capital markets and strategy related projects

What we're looking for:

SIE is seeking seasoned candidates that ideally possess the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of M&A experience (investment banking, private equity, or corporate development)
  • Experience evaluating inorganic growth opportunities, including identifying key strategic themes and building financial models and presentations
  • Strategic, quantitative, and financial modelling skills, including the ability to structure the rationale for M&A recommendations with data and valuation analyses
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint
  • Data savvy with the ability to identify key value drivers and communicate insightful, actionable recommendations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, and executive presence
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects at one time, and rapidly change priorities based on business needs
  • Strong team-player
  • Ability to work with multiple cultures and to tailor work style and messaging to function effectively across globally distributed management teams
  • BA or equivalent preferred
  • MBA a plus
  • Experience working for a major video gaming or entertainment company a plus

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
