ABOUT THE ROLE

The AI Automation Engineer (Senior/Lead) drives automation, builds operational tools, and applies AI-assisted workflows to improve engineering productivity. Working cross-functionally, the role aims to eliminate repetitive work, streamline operations, and reduce the cost of running live games through scalable automation and intelligent tooling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Leadership & Team Development:

Senior level:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI-powered automation solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and best practices for automation tooling and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, well-documented, and reusable across projects and titles.

Lead level:

  • Lead and mentor a team of AI Automation Engineers.
  • Provide technical direction and code-level leadership across automation initiatives.
  • Define and maintain engineering standards, processes, and best practices for automation and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Drive the development of scalable, maintainable, and reusable solutions across multiple titles.
  • Support team growth, hiring, and capability development as the studio expands.

2. Hands-on Automation Engineering

  • Design and implement automation tools and scripts that eliminate repetitive operational work.
  • Build reusable operational tooling that can be used across multiple game teams.
  • Collaborate directly with Game Engineers and technical owners to automate operational tasks.
  • Maintain and evolve internal tooling used for LiveOps operations, QA workflows, and release support.

3. AI-Assisted Engineering and Tooling

  • Promote practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools within automation workflows.
  • Experiment with AI-driven approaches to automation generation, log analysis, and operational diagnostics.
  • Identify opportunities where AI can improve debugging, operational insight, and engineering productivity.
  • Work with technical leadership to ensure responsible and effective use of AI across the studio.

4. Operational Efficiency and Workflow Improvements

  • Identify and reduce manual work across LiveOps, QA, and operational processes through targeted automation.
  • Design and implement scalable workflows and reusable tooling to improve consistency and engineering leverage across titles.
  • Address root causes of operational issues and implement preventive improvements to reduce recurrence and increase reliability.

5. Monitoring and Operational Visibility

  • Improve monitoring, logging, and diagnostics to provide clear and reliable visibility into production systems.
  • Build tools that enable engineers to quickly understand system behavior and investigate issues in production.
  • Strengthen observability and alerting practices to enable faster detection and more effective troubleshooting of incidents.

6. Collaboration with DevOps and Platform Teams

  • Work with the central DevOps team when automation interacts with deployment pipelines or infrastructure systems.
  • Collaborate with the platform teams when automation interacts with shared services, internal tools or platform capabilities.
  • Ensure studio automation tooling aligns with existing platform and DevOps standards.
  • Focus primarily on automation and engineering tooling, rather than infrastructure ownership.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering, developer tooling, or automation.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills (at least one of the following: C#, Java, Python, TypeScript, or similar).
  • Experience building automation tools, developer tooling, or operational systems.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of engineering workflows. (Claude Code, OpenCode, LangChain, Codex, Devin...)
  • Strong understanding of software development workflows and engineering productivity tools.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience mentoring or leading engineers in a technical capacity.
  • Experience working on live products or operational systems.
  • Experience building internal developer tools or automation frameworks.
  • Exposure to monitoring, logging, and operational diagnostics tooling.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD systems or cloud infrastructure.

Additional Notes:

  • Infrastructure and DevOps responsibilities are primarily handled by the central DevOps team. Experience in these areas is helpful but not required.
  • You may be expected to complete a test as part of the interviewing procedure.

BENEFITS AND PERKS

  • Flexible work time: Work Monday to Friday with two remote days (Tuesday and Wednesday). No attendance tracking — we focus on performance management rather than time management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
