About Plotly

Plotly builds the tools millions of developers use to work with data. Our open-source libraries are downloaded millions of times per day, Dash is one of the most popular ways to build data applications in Python, and we are building AI features up and down the stack.

About the role

This role is responsible for the company's website content, blog, social media presence, and marketing/sales collateral. It is a hands-on, execution-focused position that involves writing and publishing content, maintaining a strong SEO site architecture, and applying modern web design trends, without needing to create visual designs from scratch. This individual will work closely with Marketing Operations, Front-End Web Development, and Product to ensure all content is well-crafted, strategically structured, and high-performing.

Key Responsibilities (Primary Ownership)

Web Content & Structure

- Own end-to-end website copy, including homepages, product pages, solution pages, landing pages, blog posts, and supporting site content in collaboration with Marketing Operations and with input from Product.

- Manage site-wide heading architecture, applying best practices consistently across new and existing pages to optimize SEO performance.

- Maintain alignment between website content and evolving Product and GTM priorities.

Content Production

- Manage the blog program: editorial calendar, briefing, writing/editing, and publishing, coordinating with Product for subject-matter input.

- Own daily social media content and posting cadence (planning, writing, and creation), using established templates and visual systems, and track what's performing.

- Create design assets with templates (graphics, slide decks, video, and other creative collateral) to support marketing and sales needs, using templates and existing brand systems where possible to keep production efficient.

- Leverage AI tooling where appropriate and review AI-generated content, cleaning it and adapting it to match Plotly's tone and voice.

Website Design Updates

- Monitor web design trends to identify and adapt modern best practices for our digital properties.

- Create design briefs and page specifications for new and existing web layouts, adapting existing UI patterns rather than building new design systems.

- Partner with Front-End Web Development to convert design updates into live, functional web pages.

- Collaborate with Marketing Operations to manage launch schedules and seamless operational handoffs.

Collaborative Responsibilities (Secondary Ownership)

- Support SEO/AEO execution by optimizing metadata, on-page content, and heading structures for target keywords.

- Assist Marketing Operations with messaging and visual content for monthly email campaigns, webinars, and promotional follow-ups.

Role Requirements

- Proven experience publishing and managing content within a CMS

- Solid understanding of on-page SEO best practices, particularly heading hierarchy and site architecture

- Familiarity with trends and topics in the data science industry

- Ability to identify current web design trends and adapt them using existing design systems (e.g., Figma); design experience from scratch is a plus

- Proficiency across web, email, social, and presentation channels

- Demonstrated success collaborating with technical (development) and analytical (growth/SEO) teams

- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance competing deadlines

- Keen eye for modern visual design and layout

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
