Are you passionate about turning ideas into practical, innovative products? Do you enjoy combining creativity, engineering principles, and problem-solving to develop solutions that make a real difference?

Manthorpe Building Products is looking for a Product Designer to join our Product Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design, development, and continuous improvement of innovative construction products used across the UK building industry.

Working closely with our Development, Sales, and Production teams, you'll play a key role in bringing new products to market while enhancing and supporting our existing product range.

Manthorpe Building Products is a leading manufacturer of innovative building solutions for the construction industry and forms part of the Genuit Group. We are committed to delivering high-quality products, driving innovation, and supporting a more sustainable built environment.

The Role: As a Product Designer, you'll be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and generating concepts to testing, manufacturing, and product launch.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching market trends, industry developments, and customer requirements to identify opportunities for new products and product improvements.
  • Creating design briefs and technical specifications to support product development projects.
  • Producing concept designs using sketching, modelling, CAD, and rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Developing concepts into commercially viable products through the selection of suitable materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Creating and maintaining technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Testing and evaluating prototypes and finished products to ensure compliance with relevant standards and performance requirements.
  • Producing technical literature, installation guides, and supporting documentation.
  • Providing technical support and product expertise across the wider business.
  • Supporting manufacturing improvement initiatives through research, analysis, and practical problem-solving.
  • Working collaboratively with production, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects that enhance quality, efficiency, sustainability, and safety.

About You:

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, has a strong eye for design, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally Creo Parametric (Pro Engineer).
  • A strong understanding of engineering and product development principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A proactive approach and a genuine interest in innovation and continuous improvement.

Why Join Us?

  • Influence products from concept through to manufacture.
  • Work within a collaborative and experienced development team.
  • Gain exposure to all aspects of product development, manufacturing, and commercial operations.
  • Be part of a business that invests in innovation and sustainability.
  • Join a market-leading manufacturer with the backing and opportunities of the Genuit Group.

At Genuit Group, our values underpin everything we do:

We Work Together | We Take Ownership | We Find a Better Way

If you're looking for an opportunity to develop innovative products and make a real impact within a successful manufacturing business, we'd love to hear from you.

Here at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool. We have a role to play in making the built environment more sustainable, building a low carbon business ourselves as well as delivering sustainable solutions at scale.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
