Job Summary: Develops new customers and interacts with existing tire customers to increase sales of products and/or services. Objectives/Functions:

Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of products and services to provide accurate information to customers. Evaluate customer needs and make product recommendations often by providing hands on explanations as needed. Conduct sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers. Make cold calls by phone and in person to develop new customer relationships and future sales. Provide the best possible customer experience by responding quickly to any questions or concerns the customer or future customer may have. Perform fleet maintenance surveys. Write up tires for retread and waste via a handheld device. Meet established sales goals. Perform other duties as assigned to help drive Pomp’s Tire Professional’s Core Values.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Required to drive a vehicle under 10,000lbs. May be required to drive a vehicle over 10,000lbs, subject to additional driving qualifications. Valid driver’s license and meet any Pomp’s, State or Federal driver qualification requirements including but not limited to, MVR, DOT Compliance (FMCSA), DOT Drug/Alcohol Verification (FMCSA), DOT Physical, Non-DOT Drug Test, and any other driving requirements as assigned by the company or regulated by law. Must pass all insurability requirements and maintain insurability for the entire period of employment without interruption. Must be at least 18 years old to drive a CMV in intrastate commerce and at least 21 years old for interstate commerce. Employee must utilize all required safety equipment including but not limited to technology like Cameras, Phone Apps, Electronic Log Devices. Required to talk and hear to use equipment and effectively communicate with internal and external customers and co-workers. Knowledge and ability to use various digital tools, technologies, and programs to complete job tasks efficiently and effectively.
TIA/Bandag certification as appropriate, or willingness to obtain. This position requires 100% travel, locally and distance, with overnight accommodations. Two (2) or more years tire sales/service experience strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
Regularly lift, upright, push, or move up to 50lbs.; occasionally manipulate, upright, push, or move up to 100lbs to deliver stock and materials to customers upon request. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Reach with hands and arms to operate computer equipment, machinery, or products. Awareness of auditory signals or alerts indicating potential hazards in the workplace. Conduct visual inspections of equipment, products, or materials. May need to bend, stoop, or crouch to access equipment or materials.
Work Environment:
Work environment will be a combination of indoor, outdoor, and on the road driving in a vehicle. Some exposure to dust, fumes, and noise from tires and tools; safety equipment will be provided as needed.
