Used Car Technician

Porsche Princeton

Porsche Princeton is seeking an experienced Used Car Technician to join our team. In this role, you will help ensure our pre-owned vehicles are thoroughly inspected, expertly serviced, and ready for retail sale. We’re looking for a dependable technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, has strong diagnostic skills, and can keep vehicles moving efficiently through the reconditioning process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive mechanical inspections of pre-owned vehicles to assess their condition and identify necessary repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
  • Complete general automotive repairs and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid services.
  • Inspect and repair steering and suspension components.
  • Identify additional repairs needed to support vehicle safety, reliability, and retail readiness.
  • Complete reconditioning work accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Perform quality-control inspections and road tests to verify completed repairs.
  • Accurately document inspection findings, vehicle condition, and repairs performed.
  • Work closely with Used Car Management, Service, Parts, and Sales to support an organized and timely reconditioning process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of automotive technician experience in a dealership environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience performing general automotive repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Ability to thoroughly inspect vehicles and identify mechanical concerns.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • A dependable, professional, and team-oriented approach.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in used vehicle reconditioning.
  • Experience servicing luxury or European vehicles, particularly Porsche or Audi.
  • ASE certifications.
  • Strong electrical diagnostic experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume dealership service or reconditioning department.
