Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

Position Summary: Ski & Ride Masters Coaches are friendly, welcoming, and inclusive, all while providing unparalleled learning and customer service experiences for our guests. They instill confidence and a love for winter sports while guiding their guests to discover the joys of ski or snowboard racing. Our Master’s Coaches work throughout the season and ensure the best possible experience for the Eldora guest, working on an individual basis and as a part of the Eldora team. Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring preferred. Masters Coach duties may include observing and providing feedback to racers, setting and tearing down courses, assisting with MA and other training responsibilities, slipping courses, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

· Must love working with adults and can communicate effectively to build long lasting relationships with their athletes.

· Must be able to share your love for skiing/riding/racing with Eldora guests in a safe and effective manner.

· Coach ski or snowboard racing skills with a keen focus on the welfare of the athletes.

· Have a desire to learn and develop personal skills by attending our free, ongoing ski & snowboard training.

· Live the Eldora culture of being welcoming and inclusive while abiding by our policies.

· Work with the SRS team in teaching and non-teaching duties.

· Must be able to access daily schedules and company notices electronically.

  • All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

Specific Job Skills:

· Ability to ski and ride well, but we are looking for a ‘people person’ who has the desire to develop their personal skiing and/or riding skills.

· Able to work long and irregular hours including weekends and holidays.

· Must be an excellent communicator and work well with others in and outside of the SRS department.

· Previous winter racing/coaching/competitive experience

· Familiarity with course setting and the USSA Skills Quest concepts

  • Current PSIA-AASI/USSA certification(s)

· High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

  • Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing
  • Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment
  • Concentrated reading and writing
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Extended periods of outdoor exposure
  • Extreme cold, extreme heat and sun exposure
  • Variation in temperature from hot to cold

Schedule:

  • Non-Peak Days (M-F): 8:30am-12:30pm
  • Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 7-10am
  • This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $19+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and certification level.
  • Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
