Job Summary: The Employment Specialist is responsible for delivering employment services geared to the needs of specific target groups. This position is responsible for working one-on-one with clients within an assigned caseload. This position works within a Case Management Team (POD) of Employment Specialists, Job Development Specialists, and Job Coaches/Job Retention Specialists to provide wrap around supports to clients with the purpose of ensuring clients achieve and maintain sustainable employment.   Job Specific Responsibilities: Direct Client Service

Provides direct one-on-one employment support to clients in a client-centred manner. Reduces barriers to access to services for the populations served by the program. Determines eligibility and suitability for services. Conducts assessments to understand client’s employment related strengths, needs, abilities, skills, and other relevant employment-related factors. In partnership with the client, develops, reviews, monitors and updates individualized client Employment Action Plans to support long-term employment. Uses a variety of interventions and tools to support clients in their job search, including identifying and building employability skills, career exploration, and work preparation in keeping with the client’s Employment Action Plan. Manages client caseloads, maintaining an awareness of client needs and progression towards employment. Works collaboratively with team members and clients to support the client’s journey through services including leading and participating in case conferencing. Provides relevant information and resources to clients that support their progression towards employment. Documents clients progress through accurate and timely case notes. Provides financial supports to clients in keeping with program guidelines. Establishes and maintains positive and supportive relationships with clients and maintains client engagement. Establishes working relationships with relevant agencies/services that support client needs. Provides community referrals for clients to Life Stabilization supports. Assists clients to build support networks through referrals and liaises with clients and external resources/organizations as required. Maintains awareness of current issues and developments in the respective field.

Administration

Maintains electronic client records and protects the confidentiality of the information. Participates in accreditation chart audits. Assists in maintaining the program database by entering data, generating reports, supporting analysis, and regular auditing of data integrity. Ensures all data is accurate and entered on a timely basis. Assists in compiling and maintaining program resources. Scheduling and monitoring client attendance using appropriate systems.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Provides resources and support to program staff pertaining to specific client issues. Assists in the development of program specific policies and procedures/guidelines and in the overall planning and development of the program. Participates in the evaluation component of the relevant program. Attends and participates in team and general staff meetings as scheduled. Maintains effective communication of information among internal and external stakeholders. Participates in staff development as appropriate to the position. Assists in promotional activities and client recruitment/outreach.

  Position Requirements: Education

Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Professional Experience

3 to 5 years’ experience in the following areas:

Experience in employment related initiatives Experience in case management Experience in administering interviews/assessments Collaborative goal setting, monitoring, adapting, and evaluating progress towards goals

Key Competencies

Knowledge of issues, trends and legislation in the employment field and the labour market. Certified in/or have demonstrated knowledge of common assessment tools. An understanding of the factors affecting employability, including life stabilization factors. Excellent documentation and case noting skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse clientele and colleagues Use tools to manage caseload, understand where clients are in their journey and forecast client outcomes. Knowledge of community and social service resources, in particular services for job seekers. Strong digital literacy, including MS Office suite. Other languages an asset.

Under the Centre’s designation to provide French Language Services Based on New Avenues Linguistics Rating Scale: A+ (highest skill) to C- (lowest skill)

  Personal Suitability/Other Requirements:

Monday to Friday days with some flexibility required for occasion Thursday evenings or weekend days. Résumé du poste : Le spécialiste de l’emploi offre des services d’emploi adaptés aux besoins de groupes cibles particuliers. Il doit aussi travailler individuellement avec les clients dont il a la charge. Le titulaire évolue au sein d’une équipe de gestion de cas (“POD”), composée de spécialistes de l’emploi, de spécialistes du développement de l’emploi et d’instructeurs en emploi/spécialistes du maintien de l’emploi pour proposer un ensemble complet de soutiens aux clients afin de s’assurer qu’ils obtiennent et conservent un emploi durable.   Responsabilités du poste : Service direct aux clients 

Fournir un soutien individuel direct quant à l’emploi des clients, d’une manière centrée sur le client. Réduire les obstacles pour l’accès aux services pour les populations servies par le programme. Déterminer l’admissibilité et l’adéquation aux services. Procéder à des évaluations pour comprendre les forces, les besoins, les capacités, les compétences et d’autres facteurs pertinents liés à l’emploi du client. En collaboration avec le client, rédiger, examiner, surveiller et mettre à jour des plans d’action d’emploi individualisés pour le client afin de soutenir l’emploi à long terme. Utiliser une variété d’interventions et d’outils pour aider les clients à trouver un emploi, notamment en mettant en évidence et en acquérant des compétences en matière d’employabilité, en explorant des carrières et en préparant le travail conformément au plan d’action pour l’emploi du client. Gérer le portefeuille de clients, tout en restant conscient des besoins des clients et de leur progression vers l’emploi. Travailler en collaboration avec les membres de l’équipe et les clients pour encadrer le cheminement du client dans les services, notamment en dirigeant des conférences de cas et en y participant. Fournir des informations et des ressources pertinentes aux clients qui soutiennent leur progression vers l’emploi. Consigner les progrès des clients grâce à des notes de cas précises et opportunes. Procurer une aide financière aux clients conformément aux lignes directrices du programme. Nouer et entretenir des relations positives et encourageantes avec les clients et promouvoir la participation de ceux-ci. Établir des relations de travail avec les agences/services concernés qui répondent aux besoins des clients. Proposer aux clients des renvois à des services communautaires de stabilisation de la vie. Aider les clients à créer des réseaux de soutien au moyen de recommandations et établir des contacts avec les clients et les ressources/organisations externes selon les besoins. Se tenir au courant des problèmes et des dernières actualités dans le domaine concerné.

Administration

Tenir à jour les dossiers électroniques des clients et protéger la confidentialité des renseignements. Participer aux audits des dossiers aux fins de l’accréditation. Participer à l’entretien de la base de données du programme en saisissant des données, en produisant des rapports, en soutenant l’analyse et en vérifiant périodiquement l’intégrité des données. S’assurer que toutes les données sont exactes et saisies en temps opportun. Contribuer à la compilation et à l’entretien des ressources du programme. Prendre les rendez-vous des clients et assurer le suivi de la présence des clients à l’aide de systèmes appropriés.

Travail d’équipe et collaboration

Fournir des ressources et des soutiens au personnel du programme en cas de problèmes spécifiques aux clients. Participer à la mise au point de politiques et de procédures/lignes directrices spécifiques au programme, ainsi qu’à la planification et à la conception globales du programme. Participer au volet d’évaluation du programme pertinent. Assister et participer aux réunions prévues de l’équipe et du personnel général. Maintenir une communication efficace des informations entre les intervenants internes et externes. Participer au perfectionnement adapté au poste. Participer aux activités promotionnelles et au recrutement/à la sensibilisation des clients.

  Exigences du poste : Études

Baccalauréat en sciences sociales ou dans un domaine connexe ou combinaison équivalente d’expérience et d’études.

Expérience professionnelle

3 à 5 ans d’expérience dans les domaines suivants :

Excellentes compétences en matière de documentation et de prise de notes sur les cas. Capacité à travailler en collaboration avec des clients et des collègues divers Utiliser des outils pour gérer la charge de travail, comprendre où se trouvent les clients dans leur parcours et prévoir les résultats des clients. Connaissance des ressources communautaires et des services sociaux, en particulier des services pour les chercheurs d’emploi. Forte culture numérique, y compris la maîtrise de la suite MS Office.
