Job Description: Ruby on Rails + Cybersecurity Engineer

Search Guidance

Location: Open

  1. Skills required (Mandatory): Ruby on Rails AND Cyber Security OR Security
  2. Total Years Of exp: 5+ years' experience
  3. Opportunity: Full-Time Contract, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  4. Notice Period: 2 weeks only
  5. Engagement length: 6-12 Months
  6. Overlap Required: 5 hours PST

About the Role

We are seeking a Ruby on Rails + Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is focused on developing secure, scalable, and AI-driven software solutions while ensuring adherence to cybersecurity best practices. You will work at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and software engineering, helping to build the future of secure AI-integrated development.

Key Requirements

Programming Skills (Mandatory)

  • Ruby on Rails (Backend development, API design, scalable application architecture)
  • Cybersecurity Expertise (OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, compliance standards)

Additional Technical Skills (Preferred)

  • SQL (query optimization, database design, relational databases)
  • Python (automation, AI/ML integration, API development)
  • Java (backend services, enterprise application security)
  • JavaScript (front-end or full-stack development)

Fundamental Requirements

  • Cybersecurity Best Practices: Strong knowledge of secure coding principles, vulnerability assessment, and compliance frameworks.
  • Application Security & Secure Coding: Experience with threat modeling, penetration testing, and secure application development.
  • Problem-Solving & Algorithmic Thinking: Ability to diagnose issues, optimize solutions, and enhance system architecture.
  • Prompt Engineering & AI Tools: Experience with ChatGPT or similar tools to accelerate development while considering AI biases and security risks.
  • Software Development & Code Analysis: Expertise in writing clean, modular, and test-driven code.

Details

  • Position Type: Long-term contractor role
  • Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) with a required 5-hour overlap with PST (Pacific Standard Time)
  • Engagement Length: 3 months
  • Notice Period: Maximum 2 weeks
  • Location: Open (excluding Turing-restricted locations)
