Overview:

You are an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant with 5+ years of accounting experience and deep expertise in revenue recognition under ASC 606. You will be a key member of our Corporate Revenue Accounting team based in India, leading technical reviews of customer contracts (both short-form and long-form) so that revenue is recorded correctly under our policies. You will analyze distinct performance obligations, evaluate non-standard terms, and partner closely with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and our US-based Revenue Accounting leadership to document conclusions and drive consistent application of our revenue recognition standards. You will also prepare revenue forecast schedules, support monthly and quarterly close activities, and respond to internal and external audit queries, including statutory audits across our global entities. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, communicates clearly with cross-functional and cross-region partners, and manages multiple priorities to firm deadlines. You will report to the Manager, Revenue Accounting and partner with cross-functional and global teams across the organization.

What you will do:

  • Lead technical reviews of customer contracts under ASC 606, including identifying distinct performance obligations, allocating the transaction price, and determining the timing of revenue recognition during pre and post contract negotiation phases.
  • Document revenue recognition conclusions in deal-specific technical accounting memos and advise Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk on non-standard contract terms, including carveouts, geographic clearances, and multi-element arrangements.
  • Prepare revenue forecast schedules with supporting tickmarks, post monthly and quarterly revenue journal entries, and complete account reconciliations and variance analyses.
  • Prepare and post monthly and quarterly revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • As primary point of contact, manage and respond to internal and external audit requests for statutory audits across our global entities, providing supporting documentation, contract evidence, revenue analyses and follow up query resolution.
  • Own key quarterly revenue accounting controls related to go-to-market business motions that are not accounted for under ASC 606 in NetSuite ARM.
  • Work across NetSuite, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, Blackline, and Salesforce to execute close activities and maintain supporting evidence for revenue conclusions.
  • Manage your own time and deadlines, accurately determine task duration and dependencies, and communicate status updates to your manager on a regular basis.

What we are looking for:

This role requires alignment with the US workday and will involve working a regular night shift from India (approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST / 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST). Flexibility during quarter-end and year-end close periods is expected.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce (equivalent work experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on revenue accounting in a multinational software or SaaS environment.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience applying ASC 606 to software, SaaS, or similar contract-based environments, including reviewing customer contracts and documenting performance obligation analysis.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, with proficiency researching authoritative accounting literature and performing technical analysis; strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Comfortable working US time zone hours with US-based stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • AI Skills/Knowledge: Able to apply AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot) to review contract language at scale and surface non-standard or higher-risk terms for further review by the revenue team. Critically evaluates AI-generated outputs against authoritative accounting literature and source contracts before incorporating them into technical memos or revenue conclusions. Open to continuously adopting new AI capabilities to streamline contract review, the monthly close, and reporting workflows.
  • Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience with NetSuite and NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM). Familiarity with Blackline, Salesforce, and Alteryx or similar analysis and automation tools. 2-3 years of current or previous Big 4 or national tier public accounting firm audit experience. CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification, and familiarity with multi-element software and SaaS contracts, including subscription, term license, and professional services arrangements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
