A Security Officer role at Premier Security Solutions might just be the job for you! Armed Assignments - An Armed Security Officer is responsible for protecting people, property, and assets by maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring for suspicious activity, enforcing site rules and safety procedures, and responding to emergencies or incidents. Duties may include conducting patrols, controlling access to facilities, and preparing incident reports. Essential Duties / Responsibilities • Work to ensure the assigned premises and/or people are kept safe and secure • Interact professionally and cooperatively with students, staff, parents, visitors, clients, and emergency responders • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and conduct at all times while representing the company and assigned client • Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas with high degree of attentiveness to surroundings • Monitor entrances/exits and control access to authorized personnel and visitors • Identify, report, and assist in addressing security concerns, liabilities, and safety hazards at work sites • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies including medical incidents, threats, disturbances, evacuations, fire alarms, and other critical incidents • Exercise sound judgment in high-pressure or emergency situations • Communicate effectively to team • Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely incident, activity, and shift reports; providing detailed information to authorities as needed • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management Required Skills / Abilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent people skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required • Ability to learn and utilize company software, reporting systems, scheduling platforms, and communication tools • Judgment and high level of integrity • High initiative and reliable • Ability to work in a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork • Safely and legally operate a motor vehicle • Must be capable of maintaining composure, situational awareness, and professional judgment during stressful or emergency situations • Must be able to pass firearms tests administered by Premier Security Solutions • Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, permits, and qualifications necessary to perform armed security duties • Must comply with firearm safety requirements, defensive tactics, and properly use of authorized firearms and related equipment in accordance with the company’s policy Use of Force policy; utilizing conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques when responding to incidents or disruptive behavior Physical Demands • Must have use of your own weapon Must be able to sit, stand, bend, or walk for 100% of the shift as needed • Must be able to quickly ascend and descend stairs and move as needed to secure premises • Must be able to respond appropriately to confrontational or emergency situations, including the use of approved defensive tactics when necessary • Must have excellent visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Position Type and Expected Work Conditions • Full-Time or Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt • Involves work assignments that vary in days of the week, and time of day related to the 24/7 security operations of the client • Travel to other locations may be needed • Both indoors and outdoors possible, regardless of weather Required Education and Experience • Must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED • Valid CPL or Active/Retired Police ID and be able to provide documentation • Valid Driver’s License and be able to provide documentation • Required to complete any/all continued training/education classes provided by Premier Security Solutions, relevant to position • Complete and pass annual qualifications including firearm standards with duty weapon • Must be able to successfully pass background screening, drug screening, and any additional client-required screening • Must have prior law enforcement, military, corrections, armed security, or public safety experience Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
