You’ll help ensure our crew and guests look and feel their best, whether on a formal night or during everyday operations.

  • Garment Alterations & Repairs: Perform timely, high-quality alterations and repairs to crew uniforms, tuxedo rentals, and other garments, following Company standards for fit, appearance, and presentation.
  • Fittings & Adjustments: Conduct fittings for crew and guests as required, providing professional advice on alterations and ensuring garments are comfortable, practical, and aligned with uniform guidelines.
  • Linen & Textile Care: Support the preparation, repair, and finishing of in-use linens and textile items, ensuring they are ready for collection and use by operating departments.
  • Uniform Issuance & Returns: Assist with the efficient issue, exchange, and return of in-service uniforms to crew, in line with authorized Uniform Requisitions and Company procedures.
  • Laundry & Housekeeping Support: Participate in routine Laundry and Housekeeping assignments as directed by the Laundry Master, supporting smooth day-to-day operations during peak and off-peak periods.
  • Internal Service Requests: Respond promptly and courteously to authorized internal tailoring and repair requests, ensuring accurate follow-up and timely completion.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Help maintain accurate inventory of all in-service linen and uniform items, support monthly stock counts, and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
  • Storage, Organization & Standards: Assist with the loading, storing, and organized arrangement of linens and uniforms, ensuring storage areas meet Company standards for cleanliness, safety, and accessibility.
  • Equipment Care & Safety: Operate sewing machines, pressing equipment, and related tools safely and in line with manufacturer and Company guidelines, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Sanitation, Compliance & Emergency Duties: Maintain the sanitation and upkeep of designated hotel storerooms, follow all HESS and Public Health requirements relevant to the role, and perform assigned duties as part of the General Emergency Organization.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Technical Tailoring Skills: Vocational training or certification in tailoring, dressmaking, or textile repair, with excellent hand-stitching and machine-sewing skills.
  • Garment Alteration Expertise: Strong knowledge of clothing alterations, fittings, hemming, patching, zipper replacement, and general garment repairs for uniforms, formalwear, and delicate items.
  • Experience in Similar Environments: Minimum 2 years of professional tailoring or garment alteration experience, ideally within hospitality, cruise, or other uniformed services environments; previous cruise ship experience in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Confident in using industrial sewing machines, pressing equipment, and related tools, with an understanding of how to care for and safely operate them.
  • Fabric & Textile Knowledge: Ability to work with a wide range of fabrics and materials, ensuring appropriate handling, finishing, and presentation in line with Company standards.
  • Attention to Detail & Quality: A meticulous eye for detail, precision in measurements, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship and consistent presentation.
  • Time Management & Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage a high-volume workload, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced shipboard environment.
  • Service & Team Focus: Professional, courteous, and guest-focused approach, with the ability to work collaboratively with Laundry, Housekeeping, and other onboard teams.
  • Communication Skills: Good command of spoken and written English, with the ability to understand instructions and communicate clearly with crew and, when required, guests.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
