Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SAP MM / EMW Consultant with 12+ years of SAP experience and strong expertise in SAP Materials Management (MM) and Enterprise Material Management / Extended Warehouse Management (EMW/EWM), depending on the client's solution landscape.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in SAP configuration, procurement processes, inventory management, warehouse operations, system integration, testing, and production support. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams in an onsite project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SAP MM functional activities across implementation, rollout, enhancement, and support projects.
  • Gather business requirements, conduct workshops, and translate business needs into functional solutions.
  • Configure SAP MM processes, including purchasing, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipts, goods issues, and invoice verification.
  • Manage material master data, vendor/business partner integration, purchasing information records, source lists, and pricing conditions.
  • Configure and support inventory management, physical inventory, stock transfers, transfer postings, and batch management.
  • Support procurement processes, including purchase-to-pay (P2P), subcontracting, consignment, and stock transport orders.
  • Work on SAP MM integration with FI/CO, SD, PP, QM, PM, and warehouse management solutions.
  • Support SAP warehouse management processes, including inbound and outbound operations, putaway, picking, replenishment, and stock movements, where applicable.
  • Analyse business requirements and support integration between SAP MM and SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), if included in the project scope.
  • Prepare functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP developers for reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and conversions.
  • Participate in data migration, material master validation, inventory reconciliation, and cutover activities.
  • Lead and execute unit testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing.
  • Troubleshoot complex functional issues and coordinate with technical teams for timely resolution.
  • Provide go-live, hypercare, and ongoing production support.
  • Prepare functional documentation, configuration documents, test scripts, and end-user training materials.
  • Coordinate with onsite business stakeholders and offshore delivery teams to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

Required Technical Skills

  • 12+ years of SAP functional consulting experience, with strong expertise in SAP MM.
  • Hands-on experience in SAP procurement, purchasing, inventory management, and material master processes.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement and P2P processes.
  • Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP MM integration with FI/CO, SD, PP, QM, and other relevant modules.
  • Experience in pricing procedures, release strategies or flexible workflows, output management, and account determination.
  • Experience in master data management, migration, reconciliation, and data validation.
  • Working knowledge of interfaces, IDocs, BAPIs, and functional specification preparation.
  • Ability to analyse complex business requirements and independently deliver functional solutions.

Additional Skills for EMW / EWM

Where EMW refers to SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), the candidate should also have:

  • Hands-on experience in SAP EWM configuration and warehouse process design.
  • Knowledge of warehouse structures, storage types, storage sections, bins, and activity areas.
  • Experience with inbound processing, outbound processing, putaway, picking, packing, and staging.
  • Knowledge of warehouse task and warehouse order management.
  • Experience with replenishment, physical inventory, stock transfers, and exception handling.
  • Understanding of integration between SAP EWM and SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP using relevant integration mechanisms.
  • Experience with delivery processing, handling units, RF framework, and warehouse monitoring.
  • Knowledge of decentralised or embedded EWM architecture, where applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA MM or EWM implementation experience.
  • Experience in global template deployments and multi-country rollouts.
  • Experience in end-to-end procurement transformation projects.
  • SAP MM or EWM certification would be an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Onsite Requirements

  • Must be available to work onsite at the client location for the duration of the engagement.
  • Should be comfortable conducting business workshops and coordinating with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work closely with onsite and offshore delivery teams.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior SAP MM professional with strong functional and integration expertise, capable of independently managing requirements, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. Exposure to SAP EWM is expected where warehouse management is part of the project scope.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • 12+ years of relevant SAP experience.
  • Strong SAP MM functional expertise.
  • Onsite availability.
  • Experience in SAP implementation, rollout, or support projects.
