Job Summary:

The SOC Engineer, based in Algosystems in Athens Greece, will design, implement, integrate and maintain Algosystems’ SOC technology platforms, including SIEM, SOAR, security automation and AI-driven security solutions.

What You Will Do:

The role requires responsibilty for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability and continuous evolution of the SOC infrastructure, while supporting customer onboarding, technology integrations and the development of advanced Managed Security Services.

Working closely with SOC Operations, Security Analysts and other technology teams, the role combines strong technical expertise, platform engineering, automation and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, administer and optimize SOC technology platforms, including SIEM, SOAR, security automation and AI-driven security solutions.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, security and reliability of SOC infrastructure, managing platform upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting and technical escalations.
  • Lead the technical onboarding of new customers and service expansions, including log source integration, parsing, normalization, data enrichment and validation of monitoring capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, threat intelligence platforms, security tools and customer environments.
  • Implement and optimize automation workflows, SOAR playbooks and AI-assisted SOC capabilities to improve operational efficiency, investigation effectiveness and response times.
  • Collaborate with SOC Analysts and Detection Engineering teams on detection use cases, correlation rules, log source requirements, alert optimization and technical troubleshooting.
  • Support the evaluation, testing and introduction of new SOC technologies, including proof-of-concepts, platform enhancements and new Managed Security Services capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration guides, architecture diagrams, operational procedures and customer onboarding documentation.
  • Provide technical support to SOC Operations and customers, coordinate vendor escalations and participate in on-call support when required.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in SOC Engineering, Security Engineering, SIEM Administration or related technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, particularly IBM QRadar and Microsoft Sentinel. Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in log parsing, normalization, custom parser development and troubleshooting across different log sources and SIEM platforms.
  • Knowledge of SOAR platforms, security orchestration, automation workflows and API-based integrations.
  • Understanding of AI-driven security operations, including AI-assisted investigations, automated response and emerging Agentic AI capabilities, will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with log collection and integration technologies, including Syslog, Windows Event Forwarding, APIs, agents and cloud-native logging services.
  • Good knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, networking, scripting and automation technologies such as Python, PowerShell or REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with EDR/XDR, threat intelligence, detection engineering, MITRE ATT&CK and SOC operational processes.
  • Experience in customer onboarding, platform integration and troubleshooting across complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.
  • Relevant SIEM, SOAR, cloud or cybersecurity certifications are desirable.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
