The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Healthcare Consultant Manager based in the United States.

The Healthcare Consultant Manager will lead healthcare transformation initiatives and mission-focused programs supporting federal healthcare clients. This role combines project management, stakeholder engagement, program design, and performance evaluation to improve healthcare delivery and operational effectiveness. You will collaborate with clinical and non-clinical professionals, government stakeholders, and senior executives to develop practical, evidence-based solutions. From launching new programs and designing pilot interventions to evaluating outcomes, you will oversee initiatives throughout their entire lifecycle. The position also involves managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules, quality standards, and client relationships in a structured consulting environment. This is an opportunity for an experienced healthcare consultant to influence meaningful improvements in services, processes, and outcomes while contributing to long-term client success.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for Veteran-focused healthcare programs, ensuring activities align with client objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinical staff, program coordinators, and senior executives, to design and implement effective healthcare interventions.
  • Conduct current-state assessments, develop stakeholder and patient journey maps, and define future-state recommendations that support healthcare transformation.
  • Perform primary and secondary research to evaluate industry trends, identify leading clinical practices, and develop evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead the creation of key program deliverables, including business cases, change management and communication plans, operational manuals, and evaluation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control plans, and operational workflows to improve consistency, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Establish performance measurement frameworks and support data-driven decision-making through relevant metrics, reporting, and outcome evaluation.
  • Monitor project performance, including response rates, data quality, operational effectiveness, and progress against objectives, implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address implementation challenges to support successful delivery.
  • Manage project teams, employees, and subcontractors, promoting accountability, collaboration, professional development, and effective onboarding.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation while ensuring compliance with federal contract requirements and reporting standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify opportunities for follow-on work and expanded services, and collaborate with leadership on business development and proposal activities.
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with the required relevant professional experience. The original posting contains an inconsistency in its master's-degree experience requirement, listing both six and nine years; candidates should confirm the applicable threshold with the hiring team.
  • Relevant experience in a consulting organization, healthcare-related government entity, or large integrated healthcare delivery system.
  • Demonstrated experience using project management methodologies, tools, and practices to manage complex initiatives.
  • Familiarity with consulting approaches such as change management, process improvement, human-centered design, market and environmental analysis, and qualitative or quantitative research.
  • Ability to independently facilitate working sessions with diverse stakeholder groups and build alignment across clinical, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into accessible recommendations and produce business cases, operational manuals, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high-quality deliverables.
  • Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the country indefinitely without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • A master's degree in Public Health or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, SAFe Agile, or equivalent credentials are advantageous.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or large healthcare systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience designing and launching healthcare improvement programs, developing interventions, and managing healthcare pilots from planning through implementation and evaluation is preferred.
  • Annual salary range: $100,000–$120,000, with actual compensation determined by qualifications, relevant experience, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and contract requirements.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Flexible spending accounts.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Retirement plan options.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Additional programs designed to support employees and their families.
  • Reasonable accommodations during the application and interview process, in accordance with applicable law.
  • Additional details regarding benefit plans, eligibility, and coverage will be provided during the hiring process.
  • Certain assignments may be subject to client-specific or government-mandated health, safety, or vaccination requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
