The posting

At Prosek Partners, the stories we tell impact the global economy.

Prosek is seeking an Assistant Account Executive (AAE) – Early Career to join our growing team. This full-time opportunity is designed for recent college graduates who have gained meaningful communications experience through internships and are ready to launch their careers in financial communications.

As an AAE, you will become an integral member of your account teams, supporting client programs while building expertise across media relations, writing, research and account management. You’ll work alongside experienced communications professionals and gain exposure to some of the world’s leading financial services, professional services, technology and B2B companies.

Because we recognize that the transition from college to a full-time agency role is an important stage of professional development, our early-career AAEs participate in a structured training curriculum designed to accelerate their growth and build the skills needed for long-term success at Prosek.

Program Overview and Responsibilities

What you’ll do

As an early-career AAE, you will:

  • Monitor daily news and industry trends and identify developments relevant to clients and their businesses.
  • Develop and maintain targeted media lists and build an understanding of the reporters, publications and outlets that influence client stakeholders.
  • Support media relations efforts by identifying timely story angles, drafting pitches and conducting targeted outreach to journalists.
  • Develop relationships with relevant journalists and build confidence navigating the financial and business media landscape.
  • Draft and edit client materials including pitches, press releases, briefing materials, messaging and other written communications.
  • Prepare daily scans, meeting agendas, coverage reports, action items and other account materials with strong attention to detail.
  • Participate in internal and client meetings, taking ownership of notes, action items and follow-up as appropriate.
  • Conduct research on clients, competitors, industries and emerging trends to inform account strategy and new business opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of presentations, agendas and other client-facing materials.
  • Build an understanding of each client’s business, industry, competitors and communications objectives.
  • Contribute ideas during team brainstorms and begin identifying proactive opportunities for clients.
  • Develop strong organizational and account-management skills while balancing responsibilities across multiple accounts.
  • Produce accurate, thoughtful and increasingly client-ready work while incorporating feedback from managers and senior team members.

Professional Development and Training

All early-career AAEs will participate in Prosek’s structured Boot Camp Program, a curriculum curated and taught by leaders across the firm. The program is designed to complement on-the-job learning and build the foundational PR, business and industry knowledge needed to succeed at Prosek.

Training may include:

  • Writing 101
  • Media Relations & Pitching
  • Professional Optics
  • Account Management Fundamentals
  • Client Communications
  • Capital Markets & Asset Management
  • Professional Services & Financial Technology
  • Wealth Management & Banking
  • Understanding the Financial Media Landscape
  • Career Development & Building Your Prosek Network

Internal Network and Support

We invest heavily in the development of our early-career talent. As you transition from college into your first full-time role, you will have access to a network of colleagues who will help you build your skills, navigate the firm and identify opportunities for continued growth.

Early-career AAEs will receive:

  • Dedicated manager support to identify strengths, areas for development and professional goals.
  • Media coaching and mentorship to help build confidence navigating the financial media landscape and developing journalist relationships.
  • Mentorship and peer support to help navigate the transition into a full-time agency environment.
  • Ongoing feedback and development conversations to provide clear expectations and measure progress.
  • Exposure to leaders and colleagues across Prosek through Boot Camps, account work and broader professional-development opportunities.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related field by the start of employment.
  • At least six months of relevant internship experience in public relations, communications, finance or a related field.
  • Previous agency internship experience is a plus.
  • Strong interest in financial services, professional services, technology and/or B2B communications.
  • Demonstrated foundational experience with media relations, writing, research and/or account support through previous internships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in business, current events and the media.
  • Resourceful, proactive and comfortable asking questions and seeking feedback.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on increasing levels of responsibility.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
