Professional Counselor - Psych Adult at Providence Portland Medical Center.

The Professional Counselor practices in a treatment setting under clinical supervision and is dedicated to evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and substance use disorders. The Professional Counselor will collaborate with patient/support system to evaluate and diagnose patients. This position will provide specialized psychotherapy services, as described in the CPT, to reduce and /or resolve symptoms of psychiatric and/or substance use disorders identified. Under direct clinical supervision, the Professional Counselor will utilize established approaches and standards; complete assessment of patient risk to self and/or others; complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety; incorporate evidence based approaches to psychotherapy including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and the recovery model, Under clinical supervision, this position will also demonstrate effectiveness in individual, group and family psychotherapy and multi-modal treatment settings. This position works under clinical supervision, in a licensing board approved plan of supervision to achieve licensure with a Board qualified supervisor certified by the OR state Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Counseling or related field.
- Upon hire: Oregon Professional Counselor License or Upon hire: Oregon Professional Counselor Associate License - Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors and Therapists.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year Master's level practicum in a behavioral health setting in an accredited college or university internship.
- Additional experience in substance use treatment setting.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
