Job Description

Grow your HR career where people, forests and purpose come together.

We’re looking for an HR Business Partner, PRT South to join our People and Culture team and support our U.S. operations while based in Washington, North Carolina. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, this newly created role is an opportunity to make an impact in an organization where people are passionate about our forests, committed to safety and proud of delivering exceptional quality. You’ll join a small, tight-knit and dedicated HR team to provide hands-on support across the employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance, policies, compensation and HR programs.

This is a role for someone who enjoys doing as much as advising. You might be writing a job description or offer letter, improving an HR process, or coaching a manager through a complex situation. You’re comfortable getting into the details, building trusted relationships and stepping in wherever needed to help the team and our U.S. operations succeed.

Travel to other PRT U.S. sites will be required as business needs arise.

  • Maintain confidential employee documentation and compliant records.

  • Contribute to compensation and benefit surveys, comparisons and recommendations.

People & Culture Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Support recognition programs, employee communications and other People & Culture initiatives.
  • Partner with Payroll and other functions to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Review HR processes and recommend improvements to efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide HR inbox and team coverage as required, including coverage for assigned responsibilities during the Director’s absence.

Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Performance Bonus

Qualifications

You are an experienced HR professional who combines sound judgment, strategic insights and strong relationship skills with the willingness to handle the practical details that keep HR operations moving.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP certification or an equivalent HR designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including hands-on generalist responsibilities across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, and at least 2 years advising managers on employee relations, performance management and workforce decisions.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. federal, state and local employment laws and requirements; multi-jurisdictional HR experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
