Senior Technical Content Engineer Location: Remote, USA or Boston, MA Hybrid Travel: Up to 10% Reports to: Roy Mutalik, Director of Technical Services (Onshape Marketing and Pre-sales)

Role Summary

Love CAD and want to do more than model all day? This role is for the engineer who gets excited showing someone a faster, smarter way to design, and who has always wanted to turn that excitement into demos, videos and stories that reach thousands of people.

As Senior Technical Content Engineer, you'll be a technical voice of Onshape, the cloud-native CAD and PDM platform that's changing how product teams design and collaborate. You'll get hands-on with the newest features, find creative ways to show what they can do, and share that with engineers, engineering leaders, IT teams and executives. You'll be on stage, on camera and in front of customers, connecting what Onshape can do to the results it delivers for their business.

If you've ever thought "I could make a better demo than that," or you're the person your team asks to explain how something works, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Take the stage. Deliver presentations and live demos at trade shows, conferences, webinars, customer sites, technical events and user meetups. Support Sales with prospect demos and help customers see what's possible.
  • Create and build. Design the models, scenarios and stories that make Onshape come alive. Produce demo materials, scripts, tutorials, feature videos and "What's New" release videos. Write blog posts, feature pages, competitive comparisons and more. Your work will appear on the Onshape website, social channels and beyond.
  • Make the value click. Translate features into clear business benefits, including the combined value of Onshape with connected PTC products like Arena PLM and Windchill.
  • Shape what's next. Partner with Marketing, Sales, Technical Services (pre- and post-sales) and Product Development on launches, campaigns and events. Bring customer feedback back to the teams building the product.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with professional CAD software (Onshape and/or SolidWorks preferred; Creo, CATIA, NX, Inventor and others also considered)
  • Experience with PDM and/or PLM tools (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter, Windchill)
  • Proven presentation and live software demo skills for technical and executive audiences, both in person and virtually (including webinars)
  • The ability to turn technical capabilities into business value people care about
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfort creating and appearing in video content, and curiosity to learn the editing side
  • A real passion for CAD and design, and enthusiasm for sharing it

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; equivalent CAD, drafting or industry experience will be considered
  • Experience with video editing tools like Premiere Pro or Camtasia
  • Background in applications engineering, technical sales or training, especially with a CAD reseller or channel partner
  • Experience using or implementing Arena PLM or Windchill
  • Experience building custom integrations with APIs (e.g., REST APIs, SolidWorks API) and scripting languages

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
