Technical Manager - Electrical Testing Division

Location: UK Wide / Hybrid Travel: Occasional UK travel required Salary: £55,000 plus benefits

Lead Compliance, Technical Excellence, and a National Team

We're looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join our Electrical Testing Division and play a pivotal role in shaping technical standards, compliance and operational excellence across a national team.

This role will lead a team of Qualified Supervisors (QSs), drive continuous improvement, support major customer escalations and ensure compliance with industry regulations and NICEIC requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who combines strong technical expertise in electrical testing and inspection with excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will help modernise existing processes, strengthen technical governance and support the ongoing development of engineers throughout the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and developing a team of Qualified Supervisors located across the UK.
  • Acting as the technical authority for electrical testing, inspection and compliance matters.
  • Ensuring adherence to British and European standards, safety regulations and NICEIC requirements.
  • Supporting and preparing for external audits and regulatory assessments.
  • Driving improvements in technical procedures, systems and ways of working.
  • Providing coaching, mentoring and training support to engineers and QS teams.
  • Acting as a senior escalation point for technical and customer-related issues.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting a collaborative leadership team focused on growth, compliance and service excellence.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Extensive experience in electrical testing, inspection and installation environments.
  • Relevant technical qualifications in electrical inspection, testing and installations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical compliance, safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Previous leadership or management experience within a technical electrical environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Good IT and business administration capability.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with a passion for developing others.

Desirable

  • Previous experience operating as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
  • IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety training.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a compliance role. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the division operates, develop a growing technical team and help shape the future direction of the business.

We're looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking, challenge existing processes and work collaboratively with colleagues to build something better.

The role is primarily home based, with occasional travel across the UK and periodic visits to our offices for team collaboration and leadership meetings.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
