Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated Band 6 Specialist Adult Speech and Language Therapist to join the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC), working across sites in Carlisle and Whitehaven. This locum role offers a varied caseload, covering both acute adult and adult community work, and requires flexibility to travel across Cumbria.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for adults with swallowing and communication difficulties, while contributing to integrated care across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist assessment and intervention for adults presenting with swallowing and/or communication difficulties
- Deliver therapy across acute and community settings within NCIC
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other NHS organisations to support integrated care pathways
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
- Contribute to service development and patient-centred care initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (required)
- HCPC registration (required)
- Ability to drive and travel between Carlisle and Whitehaven sites (essential)
- Experience in both acute adult and adult community caseloads
- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
