In this role, you will provide technical and people leadership to drive process improvements, optimize equipment and facility assets, and deliver solutions that support safe, reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. You will work closely with manufacturing, customers, and cross-functional teams to achieve business and site goals while ensuring compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and company standards. The role also offers the opportunity to provide hands-on technical leadership for complex processes and major capital projects while further developing your leadership capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop a team of process engineers by providing coaching, feedback, workload management, performance support, and development opportunities while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Drive productivity and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, eliminate bottlenecks, improve cycle time and equipment availability, and deliver measurable business results.
  • Responsible for meeting site objectives in core areas of process engineering support, equipment reliability, improvement of equipment systems, key support for productivity projects, and support of small capital project delivery, utilizing both external and internal resources.
  • Lead small capital projects and serve as Project Responsible for capital projects up to $15 million USD (not sure if we can put this number on the job post), ensuring successful execution with respect to scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and plant operability.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, customers, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve technical challenges, and deliver solutions that meet business and customer needs.
  • Support equipment reliability and site capacity improvement by identifying bottlenecks and recommending near- and long-term capital investments for new equipment, technologies, and process improvements.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operations by establishing and maintaining strong practices related to process safety, cGMP, regulatory requirements, engineering standards, policies, and good engineering practices.
  • Provide technical expertise across core process engineering disciplines, including mixing, material science, heat and mass transfer, filtration, drying, and plant-specific systems and technologies.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering standards, tools, procedures, and production policies, including technical review and approval of engineering and operational documentation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement by influencing decisions, resolving interpersonal and interdepartmental issues, sharing technical knowledge, and developing engineering capabilities across the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; equivalent degrees in a related engineering or chemistry discipline will also be considered.
  • 10 years prior chemical or pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • Experience in multiple production facilities with different scales and technology platforms.
  • Skills in successfully overcoming challenges and identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Possess both the technical knowledge and practical experience to solve process engineering issues.
  • Keep informed of latest technology in order to make recommendations for change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill.
  • Strong technical problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering and business principles.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skill.
  • Exceptional computer skills in a variety of software package.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
