The posting

As one of the first Product Engineers at Pure, you’ll build the tools people use to buy and sell rare coins and precious metals. Your work will cover listings, trading, checkout, payments, and account features. You’ll work closely with design, growth, customer support, and product leadership to decide what to build and see it through to launch.

ABOUT PURE

Founded in 2023, Pure is a marketplace for rare coins and precious metals, serving over 11,000 organizations and processing more than $75 million in transactions each month.

Much of this industry still runs on phone calls, spreadsheets, and relationships. We’re building a marketplace that makes pricing clearer and buying and selling easier.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Build marketplace features from start to finish, including backend services and customer-facing interfaces.

- Make technical decisions for listings, trading, checkout, payments, and account features.

- Build fast, accessible web experiences with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

- Improve fraud prevention, risk detection, and payment and order reliability.

- Work with Growth on acquisition, onboarding, activation, and retention.

- Use customer feedback, product data, and input from our operations team to improve what you ship.

- Review code, contribute to architecture decisions, and help other engineers develop their skills.

WHO YOU ARE

- You have 3+ years of experience building customer-facing software, ideally at a startup.

- You’re comfortable taking a feature from an initial idea through development, launch, and improvements.

- You have strong experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

- You’ve built backend APIs and services with Node.js or a similar stack, using PostgreSQL or another relational database.

- You use data and customer feedback to understand whether a feature is working.

- You communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical teammates.

- You can make decisions and keep work moving when priorities change.

BONUS

- Experience building marketplaces, fintech, commerce, or other products that handle transactions.

- Experience with payments, fraud detection, identity, or trust and safety systems.

- Experience building experiments, analytics tools, or growth features.

- Experience scaling web applications with high traffic.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Flexible work arrangements: remote, hybrid, or in-office in Los Angeles

- Medical and dental coverage

- 401(k) with employer match

- Daily lunches and a wellness stipend

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

More applications. More interviews.

Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting and paid once. Send enough of them and the law of large numbers finds you the job.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
