Job Description & Summary

The Opportunity

As a Deals Valuation - Financial Analytics & Derivatives (FAD) - Senior Associate, you will help clients evaluate financial transactions within our Advisory practice, applying financial analytics to value derivatives and other financial instruments, assess deal risks, and inform decisions about mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

As a Senior Associate, you will manage assigned valuation workstreams, analyze complex questions, develop connections with clients, and guide junior colleagues as you anticipate the needs of your team. In this role at PwC, you will turn valuation analysis into clear insights that help clients understand the worth and potential risks of a transaction. You will draw on valuation methods and technology resources, consider the broader business context, and review deliverables while maintaining professional and technical standards. When a transaction presents ambiguity, you will ask questions, interpret feedback, and work with colleagues to determine a path forward. This role offers opportunities to deepen your technical skills and develop your approach to mentoring others through varied client engagements.

Responsibilities

- Developing quantitative models to value derivatives, options, swaps, convertible bonds, fixed income securities, and commodity instruments for transaction and financial reporting decisions

- Applying option pricing, Monte Carlo simulation, and financial engineering techniques to assess complex deal structures, market assumptions, and valuation risks

- Analyzing balance sheets, cash flows, cost of capital, peer groups, and industry trends to assess business, equity, and asset values in mergers and acquisitions

- Evaluating fair value measurements, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment, and legal entity valuations using financial statement models and documented valuation methods

- Testing model inputs and outputs through sensitivity analysis, market data comparisons, and mark-to-market reviews, documenting limitations and questions for further investigation

- Using Bloomberg Terminal, MATLAB, Python, VBA, and Alteryx to source market data, automate calculations, and review outputs from AI-assisted valuation workflows

- Presenting valuation findings to clients and deal teams, explaining key assumptions, transaction implications, and potential effects on value creation and capital allocation

- Managing assigned valuation workstreams, coordinating schedules and budgets, reviewing junior colleagues’ work, and incorporating stakeholder feedback into deliverables for complex transactions

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
