The posting

Company Description

QAD is a leading provider of ERP solutions purpose-built for manufacturing industries — automotive, life sciences, food & beverage, high tech, and industrial. Serving thousands of global manufacturers, QAD's Adaptive Manufacturing Cloud helps companies operate with greater precision, agility, and intelligence.

Enterprise software is entering a third era. The first gave manufacturers a System of Record — ERP that answered 'what do we have and what did we commit to?' The second gave them Data Infrastructure — the ability to move, analyse, and query that data at scale. The third era is domain-specific intelligence: AI agents that can act autonomously on manufacturing data, but only if that data has been given the context, relationships, and governed rules that allow an agent to reason correctly.

Job Description

This director owns the engineering that moves customers onto Adaptive streamlined. Many customers carry years of custom code. Lynx is QAD's tooling, built on AWS’ ATX, that analyzes existing customizations and supports their conversion to approaches compatible with Adaptive streamlined. The Extensions Platform is where customers build and run those extensions. This leader owns both, plus the engineering side of the pre-engagement assessment every customer goes through before migrating. It is the most customer-facing engineering leadership role in the transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the engineering capabilities and technical support model that enable Services and partners to assess, plan, and execute customer transitions: assess their environment, customizations, integrations, and business processes; convert what can be converted; resolve what cannot.
  • Lead the engineering side of the pre-engagement gate with Services, Sales, and Product, so customers are qualified and planned before migration starts.
  • Own the combined roadmap, delivery commitments, budget, and results for Lynx and the Extensions Platform.
  • Lead and develop both managers and their teams, with clear ownership, performance expectations, and succession.
  • Turn findings from every migration into backlog: missed customizations become Lynx work, platform gaps become Extensions Platform work.
  • Build an Extensions Platform that lets customers create their own extensions, replacing what they give up in custom code.
  • Manage internal and vendor delivery, and measure the process: conversion effort, cycle time, and customers reaching Adaptive streamlined.

Qualifications

Required

  • Engineering leadership across multiple teams through managers, accountable for people, technology, execution, and results.
  • Experience delivering migration tooling, developer tooling, customization frameworks, or low-code/no-code platforms for enterprise software.
  • Comfort working directly with customers, Services, and partners, turning complex needs into repeatable product capabilities.
  • Strong technical judgment and credibility in design decisions alongside architects.

Preferred

  • ERP or manufacturing software experience.
  • Leadership of large legacy modernization or customer conversion programs.
  • Practical experience using AI for code analysis, transformation, or developer productivity.

What success looks like

A repeatable, measurable path to Adaptive streamlined, fewer recurring conversion blockers, and steadily less effort per customer migration.

Additional Information

  • Your health and well being are important to us at QAD. We provide programs that help you strike a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to join a growing business, launching into its next phase of expansion and transformation.
  • Collaborative culture of smart and hard-working people who support one another to get the job done.
  • An atmosphere of growth and opportunity, where idea-sharing is always prioritized over level or hierarchy.
  • Compensation packages based on experience and desired skill set

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
