Role Description:
Some people have a natural ability to make others feel welcome. They enjoy meeting people, sharing their knowledge and finding the answer when someone needs help. If that sounds like you, you may be exactly who we are looking for.
As a Guest Services Representative at Capilano Mall, you will be a welcoming face of our North Vancouver shopping centre. Reporting to the Guest Services Supervisor, you will build relationships with guests and retailers and help make every visit feel easy and enjoyable. Your day may include helping a shopper find a store, answering questions about an event, processing a gift card or arranging a wheelchair loan.
Responsibilities:
Welcome and Connect
- Welcome guests warmly, listen to their needs and proactively offer thoughtful, personalized assistance.
- Provide accurate information about stores, services, amenities, events and promotions in person, by telephone and by email.
- Build positive relationships with retailers and share information about the Centre’s programs and services.
Provide Exceptional Service
- Support gift cards, gift wrapping, lost and found, and wheelchair loans according to established procedures.
- Process cash, credit and Interac payments accurately and reconcile gift card receipts.
- Follow roof access and equipment sign-out procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Handle questions and concerns calmly and resourcefully, involving the Guest Services Supervisor, Security or another department when needed.
- Keep the Guest Services desk organized, presentable and ready to welcome guests.
Be Part of the Team
- Work closely with Guest Services colleagues, Security, Operations and Marketing to provide consistent service.
- Complete shift handovers, daily logs and routine desk administration accurately, protecting guest and tenant information.
- Participate in training, share knowledge with colleagues and assist with promotional activities and special events.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in hospitality, retail, tourism, customer service or another role involving direct service to the public is an asset. We also welcome applicants from other backgrounds who enjoy working with people and are willing to learn.
- Enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and feel comfortable starting conversations.
- Bring a friendly attitude, good judgement and composure to guest interactions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Are organized, attentive to detail and able to manage competing requests.
- Are dependable, work well with others and want to contribute over the longer term.
- Have basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills and are comfortable learning POS systems and other workplace technology.
- Are available five days per week, with flexibility for weekday, weekend and holiday shifts.
- Additional language skills are an asset.
- Training on Guest Services systems and procedures will be provided.

The expected hourly rate for this position is between $20-$22 per hour.
