About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Controller for our client, CC Power. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial strength while expanding the finance function’s support across operations, technology, human resources, and compliance. Although the accounting function is well established, this position will provide essential leadership depth and technical redundancy to ensure continuity of core accounting responsibilities, financial reporting, internal controls, and close processes.

On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Controller will focus on improving business processes, implementing technology-based solutions, and providing actionable financial and operational insights to company leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a practical, forward-looking approach to Agentic AI, workflow automation, systems implementation, change management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and financial planning activities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modeling.
  • Manage accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to support company growth.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, lending requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor job costing, project profitability, work-in-progress reporting, and key performance metrics.
  • Lead annual audits and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, insurance providers, and tax advisors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations for company leadership.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, capital investments, and expansion initiatives as needed.
  • Mentor, develop, and lead accounting and finance personnel.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Preferred: prior experience leading accounting functions within construction, utility, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based organizations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled business tools, including Agentic AI and workflow automation, with the ability to identify practical use cases that improve productivity, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with Sage 300 CRE is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expert-level understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, and revenue recognition.
  • Ability to translate financial information into actionable business recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to leverage emerging technologies, including Agentic AI, workflow automation, and business intelligence tools, to improve financial reporting, operational efficiency, and decision support.
  • Strong understanding of HR operations and the intersection of finance, payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions that streamline business processes while maintaining appropriate internal controls.
  • Experience managing cross-functional technology projects from business case development through implementation, user adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong change management skills with the ability to drive organizational adoption of new technologies and business processes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
