This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Corporate Travel, Travel Operations, Travel Technology, Employee Services, Supplier Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large, global, matrixed organization.
  • 2+ years of experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership, including Director-level stakeholders and above.
  • 1+ year of experience in a technical or functional leadership role, with or without direct reports.
  • 1+ year of experience managing operating budgets, project financials, travel spend, or supplier cost models.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Support global travel sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and category strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Define business requirements, develop sourcing strategies, manage RFx processes, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Utilize market intelligence, benchmarking, analytics, and cost modeling to drive sourcing decisions and optimize value.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and supplier capabilities to support continuous program improvement.

Travel Program Operations & Service Delivery

  • Manage global travel operations and supplier performance to ensure a consistent, traveler-focused experience.
  • Manage traveler support, escalations, service recovery, and issue resolution across regions.
  • Identify operational risks, traveler pain points, and process improvement opportunities while balancing cost, compliance, and duty of care.
  • Provide guidance on complex operational issues and escalate significant risks as appropriate.

Program Transformation & Technology

  • Drive travel program transformation initiatives, including process improvements, automation, AI, self-service, and technology enhancements.
  • Develop business cases, implementation plans, and governance frameworks to support innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement new technologies while ensuring compliance with privacy, security, and enterprise requirements.
  • Drive adoption of new tools and processes through effective change management and continuous improvement.

Supplier Performance & Contract Management

  • Manage strategic supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle, from selection and implementation through ongoing governance.
  • Establish performance metrics, service-level agreements, and supplier scorecards to measure and improve outcomes.
  • Conduct supplier business reviews and drive corrective actions to ensure contractual commitments are achieved.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, financial, and service-delivery risks.

Data Analytics & Executive Reporting

  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to monitor travel spend, supplier performance, traveler experience, and policy compliance.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, savings opportunities, risks, and improvement priorities.
  • Prepare executive-level recommendations, presentations, business reviews, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
  • Measure and report program performance against established objectives and key performance indicators.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, Security, HR, Legal, Technology, and regional teams to deliver global travel program objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives, stakeholder engagement, communications, and change-management activities.
  • Translate strategic goals into executable plans, governance structures, and measurable outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor team members while managing priorities across multiple projects and initiatives.

Level of Responsibility

  • Works independently with limited supervision and exercises sound judgment in managing complex procurement, supplier, operational, and transformation activities.
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and work direction to direct reports and junior team members, as applicable.
  • Makes moderate-to-impactful decisions within the function, including decisions related to suppliers, sourcing strategies, negotiations, technology, service delivery, and project execution.
  • Operates within prescribed departmental budget objectives and supports the effective management of travel-program costs, project financials, and supplier commitments.
  • Has a moderate degree of influence over key organizational decisions and is consulted by senior leadership on supplier, sourcing, operational, and travel-program matters.
  • Communicates complex or detailed information to audiences with differing levels of category, technical, financial, or operational knowledge.
  • Uses strong negotiation, executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills with suppliers, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Manages work in which tasks frequently do not have predefined steps and require the simultaneous use of commercial, operational, analytical, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Demonstrates substantial creativity in developing new processes, sourcing approaches, supplier solutions, technology use cases, service models, and work products within established guidelines.
  • Applies deductive and inductive problem solving when information is missing or incomplete and evaluates multiple approaches to determine the best course of action.
  • Participates in strategic planning within the assigned category or program area and influences immediate and longer-term operations.
  • Escalates significant financial, contractual, supplier-performance, operational, compliance, or traveler-impact issues when senior leadership involvement is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
