General Summary:

Qualcomm Technologies Inc is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sourcing Specialist to support procurement and sourcing activities for electronic components, materials, and services required for engineering development and production programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for supplier management, purchase order execution, cost optimization, delivery performance, and cross-functional coordination with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience sourcing RF components and supporting wireless, telecommunications, networking, or semiconductor-related products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sourcing and purchasing activities for assigned commodities and suppliers.
  • Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production requirements through proactive supplier engagement.
  • Analyze demand requirements and develop procurement strategies to support business objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Resolve supply, delivery, quality, and invoicing issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify and mitigate material shortages, supply risks, and capacity constraints.
  • Prepare spend analysis, supplier performance metrics, lead-time reporting, and other procurement-related analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across global time zones and manage communications with suppliers and internal stakeholders in Asia, India, and other international regions.
  • Flexibility to accommodate critical business discussions, supplier escalations, and project meetings outside of standard local business hours as required, typically 2 times per week.
  • Effective management of priorities and responsiveness in a global, fast-paced environment. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and shifting business needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a high volume of emails, supplier communications, and procurement transactions while maintaining responsiveness and accuracy.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, pivot tables, lookups, and trend analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and make data-driven decisions with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Supplier Relationship Management and Strategic Sourcing.
  • Purchase Order Management.
  • Cost Management and Cost Reduction.
  • Negotiation and Influencing Skills.
  • Inventory and Supply Continuity Management. Risk Identification and Mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree. OR Associate's degree and 2+ years of Sourcing or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of Sourcing or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing, electronics, or technology environment.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Experience sourcing RF, wireless, networking, telecommunications, or semiconductor components.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and global supply chains.
  • Experience supporting engineering development programs and NPI activities.
  • APICS, CPSM, or other supply chain certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reporting, and spend analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Commodity Experience

RF / Wireless Components to include:

Power Amplifiers (PA), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA), RF Front-End Modules (FEM), RF Filters and Duplexers, Antennas, RF Connectors and Cable Assemblies, Oscillators and Timing Devices, and Wireless Communication Modules.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a highly organized sourcing professional who can effectively manage multiple suppliers, priorities, purchase orders, and communications simultaneously. They possess strong data analysis and Excel capabilities, communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and have experience sourcing electronic components, with RF component experience strongly preferred. They are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving results in a dynamic technology environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with global teams and suppliers across Asia and India and can effectively balance business requirements across multiple time zones while maintaining strong collaboration and responsiveness.

This is an office-based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$74,100.00 - $111,100.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
