Your future role within QRT
As the Lead Windows Platform Server Engineer for APAC, you will be the senior technical lead for QRT’s Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure across the region.
This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibility for designing, building and supporting the infrastructure underpinning our research, trading and data-processing platforms. You will also lead the day-to-day technical activities of the Hong Kong team and act as the primary escalation point during APAC hours.
You will take ownership of regional incidents and complex technical issues, coordinating teams and driving problems through to resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Windows Infrastructure team in Hong Kong and act as the senior infrastructure escalation point for APAC reporting into the Windows Infrastructure Global Lead.
- Design, build and support Windows Server 2022/2025 environments.
- Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and Entra ID integration.
- Support VMware ESXi, storage, backups, monitoring, Citrix DaaS, Azure, Microsoft 365 and Intune.
- Automate platform management using PowerShell, Ansible and Terraform.
- Work with SAN/NAS storage, Veeam, Splunk and other enterprise infrastructure platforms.
- Work with global teams while representing APAC infrastructure requirements.
- Understanding of general Windows Desktop builds and troubleshooting
- Lead critical incidents and coordinate technical resources through to resolution.
- Build effective relationships with regional business leaders, technology teams and global engineering colleagues.
- Ensure effective handovers and communication between APAC, UK and US teams.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and architecture standards.
Your present skillset
- Extensive enterprise Windows Server and infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS expertise.
- Advanced PowerShell and infrastructure-automation skills.
- Strong VMware ESXi, networking and storage knowledge.
- Experience with Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune and Citrix DaaS.
- Proven experience formally managing engineers, including objectives, appraisals, development and performance management.
- Strong incident leadership, decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
- Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders during incidents and periods of change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical issues, risks and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to give clear direction, constructive feedback and difficult messages when required.
